My girlfriend is a 1st grade teacher and she told me a student came up to her the other day. He asked her if he could show her something cool and she said of course. He should her one of your episodes that he was watching on their iPads during electronics time. She told him all about how we watch blue world as well and how I dive also. Showing them my pictures of fish and wrecks I’ve dove all over. They were fascinated. Thank you Jonathan for keeping the kids interested and hopefully making future divers out of them.

i once dove at the blue hole in DAHAB Egypt - this was so amazing - I hope to go there one more time
@alexarna2 жыл бұрын
I've done both blue holes - the Dahab one is more interesting in my opinion as the wall dive from the bells, across to the blue hole (if you do it that way) is far more interesting than anything in the Belize blue hole. That said, I did have a curious bull shark follow alongside me from 40 up to around 20m before it went off into the blue in the Belize one but overall, I think its massively overrated. I'd say the couple of dives you do after the Belize Blue hole, on the way back to land are however far more interesting than the blue hole dive itself.

1:39 How do you animate? Or what platform do you guys use to animate? Just curious. :) Also, I’m just wondering what happened Shark Academy?
@BlueWorldTV2 жыл бұрын
We use After Effects for our basic animations. Sometimes we start with a basic drawing in Illustrator or Photoshop, and then take it into after effects to add moving elements. Shark Academy went on hold because we ran out of shark species that we had footage of. We can actually do a couple more now...just need to get back to it.
@IQCStudios2 жыл бұрын
@@BlueWorldTV Oh that makes sense. Before I was like, what happened to the series? You guys did a fantastic job with it and it’s one of my favorite ocean series of all time. Have you used Blender3d before? After effects is a good platform to do animation too. I used that to make a 9/11 animation once. How long does it usually take to make one of your productions?
@IQCStudios2 жыл бұрын
@@BlueWorldTV You said you guys ran out of shark species? Hm yeah it can be hard. Are Megamouth Sharks hard to find? Oh wait a second Jonathan, here’s an idea: Mola Mola Sunfish. It’s not really a shark but it’s a really cool site. They can get huge. I’m from California and sometimes when I got whale watching I see them off the boat. I’m pretty sure you know what a Mola Mola is. It’s an iconic fish that is seen more commonly off the Californian coast. There’s also the Salmon Shark, though it lives in Alaska.

Jonathan that place is really beautiful, but it has a dark history behind it that I recommend u read
@alexarna2 жыл бұрын
@@BlueWorldTV @Mo AlZaben I've mentioned on another comment above - I've been lucky enough to dive both. I enjoyed the dives after the Belize Blue hole much more than the actual Blue Hole dive itself. I'd say the Blue Hole in Dahab is a much more interesting dive overall than it's Belize counterpart though as the entrance through "the bells" and the swim along the wall on the way to the Dahab Blue Hole is a beautiful one. Regarding the arch in the Dahab Blue Hole - it looks incredible from above with the light coming through if you happen to catch it. I unfortunately wasn't tech qualified at the time so couldn't go beyond 40m down to the arch but now I am, I would love to do the dive again and drop down further to see the entrance to the arch. A word of caution though - as a recreational diver on a single cylinder, it's tempting to push it to try to get down to the arch but extremely unwise to try. When you walk to the start of the dive, you literally have to walk past grave stones carved into the rocky walls that serve as a clear reminder of all of those that pushed their limits and paid the ultimate price; and there are a lot of them. On a more positive note though, when I did the Dahab Blue Hole, there were free divers going down a line set in the middle. We'd see them drop down and descend well beyond our sight into the dark - and that was with me at 40m. Not seeing them come up for a few minutes was absolutely mind blowingly incredible, if not slightly nerve wracking but it really did give me a new found appreciation for free divers.

You should go to the blue hole in Dahab,Egypt. I know you guys are cave trained but not trimix? There's a really nice technical required dive through a giant archway starting around 57 metres that leads out to the red sea. The crazy thing IS that it's essentially a shore DIVE e. Cousteau visited in 1971 and he actually used dynamite to blast a hole in the reef to get the Calypso into the middle. (Not cool Jacques!) They still use that hole to get larger vessels in. In 1972 he released an episode declaring it one of the top ten dive sites in the world.
