The remoteness and difficulty to reach the pagoda and cave makes this journey seem even more magical and worthwhile than the destination itself. Like searching for a treasure that has been lost even to the locals. Thankyou for your hard work!

Another totally amazing video, Honglin! Your courage and determination, and the work you put into your videos (such as the passing shots where you leave the camera and walk on - people don't realise is that you have to return and get the camera, and then re-walk that part again!) all create wonderful footage. And your soft, sensitive narration gives us a truly beautiful viewing experience. 谢谢

That sounds great, but I haven't visited many places in China myself. Ninety percent of the places I've been to outside my home are the ones I've posted in the videos. How about I take you guys with me on a tour around the country, before I got qualified enough doing something more. Like this idea btw.

What an adventurous explorer you are! Great respect for your courage and persistent in pursuing your mission of 'capturing the little known places before it's too late'. The places you visited not only race against 'the clouds' above, but also against time and forces of nature. The buddha statues and stone carvings will eventually fade away, and so will people memories of them. Thanks to you, we get to see them before 'it's too late' 👍

(13:18) No mention about the words on this stone marking installed after 1985 by the local government. It shows that these caves are neither hidden nor mysterious. The remote caves are difficult to reach and have little tourism value, thus few locals visited them. Such caves in the Guizhou, Guangxi, Yunnan and Chongqing are very common feature of Karst formation.
@Honglintravel4 ай бұрын
Hi there, thanks for your information and I totally do not agree with you. Long before the local government set a stone marking there in 1985, 徐霞客 had already been there and left his travelogue book, written in the 17th century, the stone marking you mentioned I covered 95% of the information inside the content of this video. Neither 徐霞客 nor the Dali local government pointed out 1.when the stone carving of this cave was built and 2.who built them, what's even more, we don't know the 3. religious information about this cave(Azhaliism or Mahayana), based on all these three points I called this Buddhist Cave 'Mysterious', at least the authority mentioned not having sufficient enough information claimed to be crystal clear. Karst caves are very common in southwestern China, however, the Buddhist stone carving inside is based on the natural shape of the stone so elegant like this is common? Once documented by 徐霞客 and still remains unknown is common? I don't think so. I wished people focused more on the vanishing things itself like the mysterious Buddhist cave hidden in the mountains like this one, instead of any kind of 'tourism value'.
@stanbimi4 ай бұрын
@@Honglintravel No need to be so self defensive. Long before 徐霞客 wrote about the cave in the 17th century, local kids surely visited the caves. Religions don't make these caves any more special or mysterious.

@@stanbimi The energy, intention and seeking the best way to live, is a powerful force and I for one always feel a profound connection to the unknown people from the past. For me, it gives life a depth, richness and continuity to life to ponder past peoples way of expression. This cave was chosen from among many, so was singled out and I can tell you Feng Shui, or Ley line, Telluric currents, the reading of earth energies from rivers, winds, sun direction, all these things are used for 'sacred' sites, always.
