It is not often we actually get to learn about the towns we drive through while trucking. I tried to make that a priority this time. I did my research and I share with you what I've learned during my trip. Let me know if I should do more of this. I also shared some tips to combat drowsiness when trucking. Don't be afraid to pull over and stretch your legs! Happy trucking everyone!

I drove OTR for 7 years, and driving thru small towns was the best part about the job. I also enjoyed the open road, especially out west, but having grown up in NYC, the small towns always fascinated me. Stopping in small towns and speaking with local shop owners and residents gave me a great appreciation for the people in my country.

There nothing wrong with only one meal a day, that was an amazing sunrise😍 that was so cool about all those small towns and the information you gave on them, please do more small town in future videos it’s really interesting. Hey Shelby!! Some great advice in this video!! As a new trucker I always appreciate when a seasoned trucker shares words of wisdom about taking stops when you need them. It's so much smarter to take those small breaks and keep your brain fresh ... I don't think we even realize how much we might be missing when we get into that boredom-tired-hypnosis state! Also on the food things ... I was a personal trainer for a long time and did a lot of nutrition coaching. I gave some bad advice when I didn't know better, but I've evolved and learned and I've come to this conclusion: everyone is a little different, and you should do what works best for YOU. If you feel well and remain healthy on one meal a day, then that's fine! And on the part about walking after you eat -- that is EXCELLENT advice for anyone. Light exercise after eating stimulates natural insulin production, which helps us metabolize food and balance our blood sugar. I'm sharing my experiences on KZbin too and always appreciate your influence as a more experienced female trucker in this space! Looking forward to seeing the next one!

Hey Shelby! Glad you're staying safe. Trust your intuition! If it doesn't seem safe avoid it. We're ingrained in being nice to people. If you get a bad vibe, listen to it and get yourself out of the situation asap. Take care and keep the videos rolling. Love ya!

I think your brand of trucker chronicle is unique to you and young people interested in this life will really get what is possible. Our days are full of frustration mixed with site seeing. Me and my parents started driving 750 miles to Arizona to see my grandparents. We live in Southern Colorado and my mother grew up in Albuquerque and my dad had his own trucking company hauling cars around Arizona and New Mexico. Even seeing the west in cars and campers can be fun, we've done the trip 4 times now and each one we find some kind of new thing on the way out there or back to check out. You really don't have fun unless you do stuff along the way, if you are ever running along I-40 through Arizona I recommend checking out Two Guns, Twin Arrows, Winslow, Seligman, and Williams. All neat little towns and the first two are uninhabited now. Stay safe out there driver.

Love the dashcam with commentary format. Regarding the one meal a day, it's totally healthy and, while the research is preliminary, it's a form of fasting that might indeed help reduce cancer risk. If you're interested in the health benefits of fasting, you might like Valter Longo's "Longevity Diet", in which he recommends getting most of your calories in a single meal. He's published a summary of his diet on his website, and if you're into the settled-science behind his recommendations, he wrote a book about it.

There is a window cleaning solution called glass gleam #4, It's very concentrated and I have it in a spray bottle and in my washer reservoir on my truck. It will remove ANYTHING on your windshield or any glass on the truck. It's also biodegradable. In Florida the love bug's this time of year are horrible. I also keep a window scraper in my truck for the windshield. Awesome video as always. Take care

Been eating once a day for years. As a truck driver for 18 years. I care about how much weight I am carrying. At 6'7 I can get away with carrying more weight but it is uncomfortable. You are a very attractive young woman. Always be aware of your surroundings and have your dog. I stumbled across your channel and like your bubbly personality. I drive a freightliner as well and had that dome light issue. Penski fixed it. Never figured out what it was. I put a bag under the cover to block it. Tall respect for being a owner op. I work for your direct competitor as they employ me and pay quite well. Dont know how you all are making it with fuel prices as high as they are. Cost 1,200 for around a 175 gal fill up.
