This is the dodgy area through the infamous Mt Wellington fault, and looks much more messy than when I was last in there 2 years ago

Your right there used to be a metal plate on top If that shaft no more than two bolts some years back. Great little mine not far from me. Ground is a little dodgy. Great video

Too expensive and technically difficult to seal off, plus you dont want to trap large pockets of radon gas

How do you retrace your route?

Go out the way we went in. Just remember your turns. Some go to a dead end. Some times you might feel a small air flow. Most of the time it’s just remembering the way you went.
