Alamein Railway Station is one of the least used stations on the Metro Melbourne Rail Netwotk. It is located in the Eastern Suburb of Ashburton in the City of Booroondara. Come with me as we Explore Akamein Station The Station at the end of the Akamein Line.

It is one of the lesser used stations. In 2019-2020: 113,450 passengersThat is an average of 307 per day.

Not a word about the Outer Eastern Circle track (which the bike trail at the end of the station now follows) which is by far the most interesting aspect from a railway point of view!

Thanks for your comment. The Outer Eastern Circle track certainly deserves its own video. When I have finished the Stations at the End of the Line series, I shall be looking at videos of various rail trails. I think Alamein to East Malvern might be the first. Thanks for the idea.

The white picket fence appears at numerous locations along the Anniversary Trail. It seems to be an artistic feature of the trail (tying in to it's outer circle heritage I suppose).

Thanks for your comment. I was told by station staff that during the morning and evening peaks that 7 car sets run from Flinders Street to Alamein, and during off peak, there is a 3 car shuttle between Camberwell and Alamein. Does this sound right to you?

@ they must of meant 6 cars as they do run a 6 car xtrapolis set in peak hours, hcmts only run Pakenham, Cranbourne and peak hour on Sunbury line

Dude get ya fax right the off peak services are 6 cars not 7 cars
