One of the most unique and confusing Abandoned mansions I've ever explored. Once owned and built by one the wealthiest Rabbi's in America, this mansion was built in the 1980s, with every brand new appliance of the decade included. The liminal concrete walls in the foyer make me feel alone and small while looking up at the 20 foot ceilings, with the 2 ornate light fixtures swaying above my head. The environment is one to take in, from the overgrown pool with vines hanging all over the walls, to the eerily left behind children's room, seemingly taking you right back to Sesame Street with all the characters still taking residency inside.
If you enjoy the video leave a thumbs up and subscribe for more exploring content !

A Jewish family explains why they have more than one refrigerator. They don’t mix meat and dairy, so they have a fridge for both. Same with having two sinks, one for meat and for dairy. That oven at 30:26 is a double oven. My family had one, too. The bottom of I’m not mistaken was a proofing drawer for rising dough.

A Jewish Family? Nobody cares what their damn religion is. I don't care if they're Pentecostal and where dresses and skirts all the time or if they're Free Will Baptist or if they even worship Satan. I could care less what their damn religion is. Who cares. It seems like no one talks about anyone's religion unless they're Jewish. Who cares I could completely I couldn't care less....!

Kosher means you don't mix meat and dairy for your meals (amongst other things). You can't put them on the same dish/plate, but you can have them in the same refrigerator. Not all Jewish families are rich and can afford more than one refrigerator. My family had a refrigerator in the kitchen and one in the bar area, one in the garage, plus a freezer for meat/extra frozen stuff. My stepfather just liked to have extra room for food and easy access to his beer in the garage. I am guessing it was the same for that family, as their house was likely built around the same time my stepdad and mom built theirs (early 80s). I think that was kind of the thing to do back then when you needed extra food storage and had the room in your home for it.

I can't add anything to the wonderful comments by the other viewers, but I just wanted to say that I really enjoy these videos you make. They touch something in me that is hard to put to words. Maybe it would be different if this house had never been lived in, but it's as if the routines of love, life, and work have etched a human imprint on the walls of this house that wasn't just a house, but a home. I don't know, but I just found it all so strangely moving and beautiful, even with the weird wallpaper! I think you feel that as well, and that is why you keep making these videos. Kind of like going through old abandoned malls. The echo of human souls still reverberates and can be felt. Thank you for doing these and I look forward to more of them.

The black plastic case with “Andy” drawn all over the top, in the playroom was a music cassette case. It holds cassette tapes. I had one of those in my time. someone may have mentioned this but that desert serenade picture in the kids room at 17:11 is a magic eye, popular in the 90's where a 3d render becomes visible if you unfocus your eyes. this one is a coyote (or maybe a wolf, i guess) howling at the moon

at first I thought the mansion was abandoned 15 years ago, but the water, masks and such makes me think they left this house during the pandemic. Unless the masks and water are from 15 years ago, which I think was doing the Epola scare. I'm guessing Andy was a small kid then, so if they left 15 years ago, I would think he is currently a senior in high school or in his early 20s if still alive. I think Wall Street had a bad year then in back then, which might explain why a Rabbi's family had to leave if their money run dry. Unless they left for other reasons. There was definitely a son, daughter and married couple among the former residents of this mansion based on the rooms. The other bedrooms could have been for either live in help like maids or extended family like in-laws, grandparents and close family friends. If I had money to do so, I would repair these abandoned mansions to their original form while changing things to make them into things like hotels, motels, affordable living areas, community centers and such. I would also hire witches and priests to clear any potential demons, ghosts and spirits.

@KISSbestfan
@KISSbestfan 3 ай бұрын
Yeah, it is fast. I do have a summer house that I do not visit so often, and when I miss on mowing during the early spring, the place already looks abandoned in late spring. Not to mention my land is going into the Forest, so going inside my place is very easy. I do not even lock the Gates, as it is no use. I only lock the house and shed. Fortunately I do have neighbors just opposite, and next to, and Im very fortunate to have them, as they keep an eye on my place. I do have lots of foliage around the whole place. Those do not need any maintenance, everything just grows. Cleaning this up was a task for three additional men. Most of the abandoned places needs taking care of the nature first, and you'd be surprised how different would things Look like automatically. On an ending note, my place could also confuse some People as being abandoned if anyone broke in, seeing all those late 90s TVs, Old books, hi fi, and other stuff. But I can assure you I've been over there a week ago.

The pantry with the second fridge and sink is a butlers pantry. They're setup to store both the dry goods and refrigerated items in the same place so things can be prepped before it goes into the kitchen for cooking. Judging by all of the wall mounted phones and intercom systems they obviously had servant staff working for them. The small spiral staircase probably leads into the servants quarters so they don't have to go through the areas they're not allowed. The children were probably home-schooled, the room with all of the cartoon characters looks like a learning and play area and the spot with the futon's were probably a space for naps. I wouldn't be surprised of all the the disposable masks and pallets of water were purchased for the servants.
@MrKingglenn
@MrKingglenn 5 ай бұрын
Might have had servants, but doubtful. It looks more like a daycare setup with the spiral staircase off the end and office type setup there. It would explain the quantity of water, but they also seemed like they were paranoid (preppers) so probably bought up a ton of supplies(masks, blood vials, lamps). These are the types that buy out all the toilet paper whenever there is a scare leaving everyone else trying to figure out what to do. The intercom system is fairly common for large dwellings so you could talk from wherever without having to hunt people down. A simple button push is all it takes. Basically a wall mounted walkie talkie. Also landlines were the norm in the 80's as cell phones weren't much of a thing yet so having multiple phones is also fairly normal so you could answer a call from anywhere in the house. Being that it was a Jewish homestead the multiple fridges would have been to separate meat from dairy but could have served as kid supplies(daycare) vs household.
@Slane583
@Slane583 5 ай бұрын
@@MrKingglenn I'm not denying they had multiple fridges for keeping things separated. But the room with the fridge and small kitchen counter is still a type of butlers pantry. Even if that's not what they themselves might have called it. Butlers pantry's were just a separate room for storing your food items that had a small prep counter in it so you weren't in the way of others. House designs we've been shopping for recently have something similar. But obviously being much more modern and without the little peep window to talk to those in the next room. As you point it out I can see that one spot with the spiral staircase being a daycare. That's kind of what I was trying to get across when I said "learning area" but it didn't come to mind properly. As for the multiple phone landlines, it may have been common but it was only common for wealthy people. Being an average normie I didn't grow up with such a privilege so we only had a single line. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they were paranoid whackos. Especially with all of the security monitors in their bedroom. They probably acted like everyone was out to get them.

This is what life was like in the 2000s guys kind of sad how people are rich like this and couldn't even fix their house problem forget calling it a mansion the way it was set up almost looks like a building if their wasn't water damage they could of probably still lived there being a kid in the early 2000s we lost a lot of houses we couldn't afford because it was a mess to fix and the power would always stay out for weeks because of storm damage anything could happen to cause someone to abandon their home but it would be nice to have money like that.

I know other people have already said this but the multiple fridges and kitchen areas are to keep kosher, which would be important for a rabbi and his family. They would need entirely separate sets of dishes as well, separate sinks to wash the dishes in, separate sponges and dish clothes. Everything would have to be separate for meat and dairy meals, plus they likely kept the parv food in the third area so it could be used with either meat or dairy meals without being contaminated.

Hi, caught some paranormal activity, so here's a respectful EVP spirit audio analysis at 0.25x video speed: 21:38 'Hej' ('Hey'), 21:39 'Du' ('You'), 'Du er medium' ('You're a medium'), spirit here seems to address yours truly. The exercise bike makes a noise, and there's also EVP speech patterns in this: 21:40 'Store children giver overskud' ('Big children bring profits'), 21:42 'Tro mig, det virker' ('Believe me, it works'), 21:41 'Der mangler penge i kassen' ('Money is missing from the cash register'). Now spirit is focused on you it seems: 21:42 'Du kan styre din krop' ('You can control your body'), 'Du kan forstyrre mig' ('You can disturb me'), 21:44 'Det kan vi ikke længere' ('We no longer can'), and you say 'must be broken'. The camera lens can act like a portal to the unconscious spiritual dimensions. As the Internet is a parallel alternative dimension, just as the afterlife, spirits can manifest on line using the energy of this huge electromagnetic global grid. In the spiritual dimensions time is flexible, fluid. Our whole reality is not as stringently laid out, as we are taught to think. Everything is connected at a spiritual level, and Nature is alive with spirit energy. Spirit helpers are able to communicate with us if we allow ourselves to be open to it, they show us where to focus our energy. Even the ancient Gods can communicate by the use of symbols or directly through EVP audio. Just as with ghosts, also non-human Nature Spirits should always be respected; they are powerful personifications of forces in Nature itself. Some spirits, some Gods, are positive, while others are not. But again - they should always be highly respected. In the garden you're taught a lesson by the Old Nordic Goddess of the apple tree: 25:31 'Pluk ikke æbler, hvis du ikke skal spise dem' ('Do not pick apples, if you're not going to eat them'), 25:33 'Jeg er Yduna' ('I am Yduna'), 'Gå væk med dit kamera' ('Go away with your camera'). I’m confused, you mentioned the house was 80’s but it had some 1970’s things built in, then you showed the fire extinguisher and you said it shows when it was abandoned because it was last checked in 2009. So why all the water stashed and masks then you mentioned COVID? Were they living there in 2020? But nothing updated?

The abundance of fidges could be explained that in the jewish tradition the mixing of dairy products and meats is prohibited. Usually it's not that strict regarding the storing of the products but this family had the money to have plenty of fridges so why not? By the way, the adagium of the 'Proper People': "There's are always Christmas Decorations" doesn't fly for this house. I wonder why ;). Darn it, just see that kelly7688 already explained the fridges.

I've read a lot of comments here about the 'handcuff keys' note on the empty hook. I didn't find that creepy, I found it funny. I took it to be a joke, after all, the hook was empty and I couldn't help feeling that it was someone's idea of a bit of fun, adding a harmless label to an unused hook and having a bit of a laugh at the homeowners' expense. It's certainly a prank that would cross my mind to pull on my mom and dad. What saddens me though is that the house itself is salvageable. Yes, I agree with a lot of the comments here, the choice of interior design isn't to everyone's tastes (which it doesn't have to be as no one but the owners had to live here) but the structure of the house seems sound to me. Perhaps there could be a dispute about who actually has ownership of the property? Perhaps the, now adult children of the family who lived here, are fighting a legal battle over it and the place is in limbo while it is being sorted out? Might explain why it looks so clean and well kept inside.

The "Desert Serenade" print is a 3D picture, where if you let your eyes focus BEHIND the plane of the picture, a 3D image becomes visible. Sorry but I feel like some really sketchy things happened in that house... Especially up in the kid areas. There are a lot of cabinets built into the walls and I would say all those small tvs mounted up high were probably connected to cameras so they could watch outside since there were regular tvs lower in some of those rooms. Also - if the water expired in 2020 - those supplies were pre-Covid! Cases of masks? Blood vials? Handcuff keys? And what were all those other keys for? And that was quite the command center in the bedroom - with that panel of key holes! What did they open? I watch these videos a lot and never had the creepy feeling of this one...

And I had Oscar the Grouch stuffed animal. I think he came inside the trash can but I lost the trash can early on so I mainly just had Oscar. I felt bad losing his little home ha. Cool looking home though. Kind of like a nice looking time capsule.
