I went to this school. Back in 1980's remember all my classes. I also played basketball in the gym. Lot of memories. It was interesting to see. It was a good school.

It was closed down and sold. They did have a few things in there after the school transferred to the new location. While watching this, I was trying to remember the school while I went there. Thanks for the memories! ❤

So funny hearing them speculate about this being a school last used in like the early 1900's then all the kids just vanished when in reality the building was in use by various parties as early as 13 years ago.

We didn’t have much info on the school during our exploration. If you watched the intro you’d clearly hear me talk about the other parties that used this building before it ultimately closed.

@fellzer the school opened in 1916, closed in 2000. Was sold in 2002 to some guy who was a hoarder. He really let it go.... like severely. It had asbestos. It was demolished on Feb 21st 2024.

This hurts my heart. We had our dance recitals there…(back in the 1900s lol), school dances, the band room, so many memories in Ellsworth WI

Awesome video, I actually went to this school for 8th and 9th grade back in ‘94 and ‘95. Brought back a lot of memories. It’s crazy to see it so deteriorated in contrast to it being such a clean school when I attended. Interesting that the purple paint lines on the upper walls look to be in good condition.

@@King.explores I'm not exactly sure the year as I only lived in that town for 3 years and then moved out of state, but I remember the new middle school was built in the early 2000's, so i'm guessing this school was closed around 2003-2005.

New middle school was built in the late 90s, so the junior high closed around 1995-1996ish

I went to school here 1986-1988. I also worked maintenance there between my Jr & Sr years in 1990. The school district stripped all the lockers out when they closed the school.

This was my moms Junior High. I used to bike past it all the time and look in the windows at the empty classrooms. I always wondered what the rest of the school looked like 😳

My old elementary and high school both still exist today, but the high school my brother went to got torn down about 5 years ago. Before that, they opened it to the public one last time so everyone who went to school there (or just anyone who was curious to see the inside for whatever reason) could make one last tour of it. He wanted to do that, so he took me and a friend of his (who also went to that school) with him and he gave me a grand tour of what an average day there was like for him. I saw his old classrooms, the gym, the courtyard, the cafeteria, the principal's office and pretty much everything he was used to seeing almost every day for 6 years of his life (high school here is 12-18, not 14-18 like in the US). And then he decided to go off track and finally check out all the places he had never been to while he attended that school. The classrooms he never went to, the inside of the teacher's lounge, the basement where students could park their bikes, the back of the cafeteria and everywhere else he never got to see. For me, it was just an old abandoned building that had no real meaning, because I didn't attend that school but for him it was one final walk down memory lane and he made it count. What I thought would take only about an hour tops ended up lasting almost 4 hours and he never stopped regaling me with stories and memories of everything that happened to him that was memorable and related to whatever place in that school we happened to be at. He said that to him, it felt surreal to walk around there in the state it was in. Like, he remembers it as a bustling place of activity, learning and hanging out with friends and to see it completely shelled out and empty felt like giving a funeral to a part of his past, as he put it.

This was my middle school grades 7-9th we called Jr High. My mom graduated here when it was a high school. Sad to see this had deteriorated so bad. I graduated in 1984.

Im really surprised you didnt get ran out by the alarms or the old guy in here...I went to Jr. High here....like in 1993 completely flattened now. This only closed in like 2000. This was so crazy and heartbreaking. I have so many memories... first school dance on that stage. Was in a pageant on that stage. So sad. The lunch room looks the same lol BTW- i know who painted that leaf drawing. Cant believe its still there.

That room that you thought was for hanging tools etc was an acoustics room for band/choir. I went there in jr high. Crazy how bad it’s gotten. That was a really cool school back in he day! They don’t build them like that anymore.

That was my JR High school WAY back in the 1900’s! We had school dances in the auditorium (complete with the awkward teenage slow dancing) and the other gym was the lunch room. So sad to see the school like that now. Lots of memories.

I remember the DJ would set up on the stage and I used to try and request Stone Temple Pilots' songs all night, lol. The cleaner looking gym was actually used for PE classes and as the cafeteria.

My grandmother went to school there the first year it was open and I went there the last year it was officially a school which was like 1997 I think. It was only used as an overflow after that.

I go to school in this town asked the history teacher and he said while they were renovating the high school they sent kids here that was around late 90s early 2000s. It was also used for after school clubs

It seems to me that the doors were gonna have to be welded shut anyway. Many kids on the weekly basis attempt to get into this place. So if you truly think me posting this video is the reason the doors were welded, i’m glad i posted this so that way we can keep the young local children safe. On the other hand i apologize that your brother had to spend extra time out of his day to weld these doors.

Just an update to the location, they started demolition on Monday. This is in my home town, the junior high school is about half way torn down

Except for some dust, the school is officially gone now. Thank you for sharing this, I was always curious about the inside. Our town respects buildings, abandoned or not. We don't graffiti things or break stuff just to destroy a piece of the town. Now that the school is gone, this is the last memory of its existence. @@King.explores not anything abandoned. I used to live in a house that made me sick. It was old and had mold in the basement. Black mold is very toxic and dangerous, you might need to wear a mask at the very least.

I went to school here in the seventies I remember when the last part of this was built maybe 66 or 67 there was nothing wrong with this school just the school board wanting to spend our money it could be used they let it go to rot long before they closed it . The last kids that went there were kids from Prescott there was a restuarant in there in the home ec room in the early 2000,s. This just shows you how to waste taxpayers money. E

They entered the "old" gym and said there had been a fire. The stage area was painted black. Tons of mold in there. Hope you guys stayed healthy afterwards. This was cool to see my old junior high.
