@@Askjeffwilliams yes I have worked in mines seen rattlesnakes in them ,once step on a fuse and I heard it sizel thought it may still be connected to the charge started running lucky for me it did not go off it must have been left overs . Sad in a cave and look out at the sky and a snake came from the back of the cave right past me I was sitting still, hiking one day a mountain lion went into my camp and took my steaks broke the lid off my ice chest seen his big tracks in camp , almost walked into a bear south of Flagstaff in the mountains, had rats eat my wires in my moter put my hood up after that and they did not get in my truck engine, ran out of water hiking in 110 heat put a pebble in my mouth works great old Indian truck, was a Gorman in Calif a person 80 years on the creek hit a glory hole got nuggets as big as my thumb ,he had come long cable with rope hook to the trees and he jack the rocks out and was down 8 feet when he hit a big glory hole , their are meny stories I Mosely muck and drell with ore carts I bet you have a lot of stories 2 🧝🏝️

I went to a old known gold mine this past weekend.. I been there many times. I try to make videos while I'm there but the gold is always so small i feel its pointless to post.. I been to this spot probably 15 times.. Only gold pans are allowed in the area I go.. One day ill find a great spot over here on the east for you Jeff! Sry its taken so many years.. I dont want to waste your time.. your time is literallygolden.. I will only reach out when the dirt is rich!! So far your backyard beats out all my spots!! Love all your videos Jeff! Had a lapidary* class in high school ran by Mr Larry Bidwell... it was a rocks and minerals class. Recently picked up some starter mining equipment. I do Geophysics for my job and I was wondering if GPR is ever used to locate pockets of gold? Possibly by pulling a traverse with the gpr along a somewhat flat mine shaft wall? I have a handheld made by GSI... or GSR...? We also have a fisher tw6, a pipe locater.... Cant wait to get a decent detector some day. Anywho, cant wait to get weeeeet and break some rock. Hey Jeff I just watched a video on the Empire Mine in Grass Valley CA. Have you ever visited it? It ran from 1800 something to 1956 and is 11,000 feet deep!😳 Only inflation and a miners strike stopped it. I’d like to see you do a video on it🙏🏻. It looks right up your alley!

Fresh air was coming up from the tunnel and it sounded like there was human activity in the bottom of it but the tunnel was pitch black. Exploring it unprepared our phone flashlights started to die.

This last Spring, I think it was, my brother an I were near Virginia city and heard a couple very loud BOOMs, later in the day on the news they said at that same time there was an earthquake an the epicenter was located very close to where we were. So we are pretty certain we heard earthquake booms!

I was reading the bureau of mines yearly fatality reports between 1880 and 1920, miners in my historic district of Black Hawk/Gilpin Mining district and "crushed by rock" was the most common yearly accidental death , "crushed by mining cart" , "accidental dynamite detonation" were other common ones.. "fell In the Mill" was a particularly nasty one..

What a shame for those people trying to get their loved one home. I wish i could help them out but im in between jobs about 3 months now. I have no family and if my last one had died miles away id want them buried at home among the people they knew and loved. Any wishes aside of course.
