Aren't round ball sprite got removed in 1.16/1.20?

i don't know, I mean it's long since I played 1.16 or later version myself. Though round ball(pokeball) looks like 3D because I turned it on in config menu otherwise they were 2D too

Idk about official but for Tlauncher instead of as resource pack I created new version (Pixelmon nod from mod list of launcher) then replaced mods in that with curse forge ones...in that there's config menu, then Pixelmon and then in one file there's option of 3D pokeballs : false , just change it to true (without any capital letters) and save it and done
