You are an amazing pianist Simeon. I have the entire Arturia library but I haven't upgraded since my current Piano V2 release. I can honestly say Arturia sounds never sounded as good to me as they do when you are on the keys. Arturia should contract with you to help market their libraries. You're just amazing...

Lew, o e of the main factors in getting a good sound from a library, especially pianos is the velocity curves. I would play around with going to the extremes to hear what is going on and then dialing in the settings when you feel like you are hitting a sweet spot.

This is actually the Studiologic SL88- Grand I use the MIDICULOUS application to display the virtual keyboard and chord display It has a great weighted wooden action.

Hi Simeon! I wonder how do you compare this with Heavyocity's Ascend piano? They seem like similar piano library to me, with a pretty cool hybrid sound. I was very pleased with Augmented Strings so I might get this for $49 it seems a great deal. Thanks!

I would say that they are two different approaches actually. Augmented Grand Piano is more of a HYBRID approach where Arturia is taking a sample-based instrument and pairing it with their powerful synthesis and processing engines. For lack of a better analogy, it is like taking a sampled piano and connecting it with Pigments. Avant is more like the sibling to ASCEND and can even be compared to NOIRE in some respects as they all rely on leveraging the "particles" aspect of KONTAKT. Heavyocity always does some wonderful things, especially when using effects and convolution to come up with some very interesting and exciting sound possibilities.

That would be very cool, but it is not possible at this time. The UVI workstation is limited to traditional computing platforms but they do have a couple of instruments specifically for iPad, namely the Ravenscroft 275 and Beathawk. Hello Hans, yes, I approach each live stream with this sort of blank slate and it is so exciting to see what happens when pulling up each sound. I started playing when I was around 5 years old and have been blessed to have had so many wonderful musical experiences. I guess my brain acts like sone sort of tape recorder that has captured so many snippets over the years, all it takes is for a sound to trigger that musical memory and we are off to the races.
