AUPAK DUNG ( in Phome Dialect ) is an ancient stone cave situated at Bhumnnyu Village, it is a man made cave located 3.5 kms ( Via NH702 ) away from LONGLENG DISTRICT Headquarter.....
It is told that during the reign of the Ahom King, when Rura Raja and his enemy Godapani was fighting a battle, Rura Raja and his followers made this four chamber cave, known as Aupak ( meaning Aupak cave in Phom local dialect) and a small cave adjacent below Aupak Dung to take shelter for his safety and his troops when he fled from Godabanl, the other Ahom King!!!!
The King Rura Raja along with his father, singh Phoman and his soldiers Hurman and Heingo and the other followers took shelter in that cave and made the followers historical fact findings in its vicinity and surrounding Bhumnnyu Village.
1) They carved chair and table out of stone known as " Yimbü Long " (in local dialect)
2) They carved a large bed of 18 to 20 feet out of stone known as " Jainyü Long " (in local dialect)
3) They build and carved a huge stone known as " Onglao Long " (in local dialect)
4) They discovered salt water this place is known as " Shümteinyaipa " (in local dialect)
5) They discovered and excavated precious stones and this place is called " Shengshengyak " (in local dialect)
6) They discovered a place where crude oil was found inside Aupak dung
7) They discovered a place where lime stone (longthon) was found and this place is known as " Longthon Yak " (in local dialect)
