Thanks for having me on your foodie vlog in Bangkok! 🙏 And hey, next time, let's hope we tackle the spicy Thai raw seafood without feeling like we're breathing fire! 🔥😄

Some people eat raw shrimp in the Philippines. But I never did it because my stomach couldn't handle it. I tried fresh clam before, and that was the last time because I had food poisoning after. Though it was great experience.

A tip for those of you wanting to try the dancing shrimp; do it next to a River or lake, where they take it right out of the water and throw it into your bowl.

Awesome! The fun part about the neua dip 'beef raw' and the raw larb that you tried; they almost certainly come as a version with fresh blood. It really is quite common in BKK, as a good portion of the inhabitants are from the Isan region. Definitely worth a go, and I'm sure your viewership would love to see you try! Great vid. Thanks.

I loved dancing shrimps from my first encounter with it back in 1999 and still enjoy it to this day. I used to eat raw beef and pork regularly and drink pigs blood every Friday evening. But one day I copped a serious infestation, and that ended raw beef and pork for me. But prawns and crabs are still on the menu

I had the live shrimp thing on my first visit to Pattaya, Thailand. I was with an Agogo bar Dancer from Bangkok and it had been a heavy night. We were on the beach and she ordered it for my breakfast. I was like WTF. Welcome to Thailand. I was looking for bacon and eggs. Amazing Thailand. Nowhere better.

Isaan isn't a province, Andrew. It is a region. Raw laab is very prevalent up here in the North where I live. As is raw offal, which tends to be dipped in bile.
@Andrew_Fraser8 ай бұрын
I just came back from shooting in Laos. Sounds very similar to what I tried there. Very much looking forward to visiting Isaan one day.
@leehaseley21648 ай бұрын
@Andrew_Fraser there are a lot of similarities between Laotian, Lanna(northern Thai), and Isaan.

I typically only try weird foods if I see the locals eat it. Given your friend didn't eat the raw beef products... I'm not sure I would try it. I've had raw beef in Taiwan and Paris, but they were in sit-down restaurants, and very rare cooked steak at home (it was essentially raw in the middle, and near the bone). As for the tripe... that looks like it needs to be cleaned more. When they sell raw tripe in the US, American, Asian, or Hispanic markets... the tripe is cleaned to the point it looks almost opaque... vs what looked like lightly rinsed innards. Glad you survived!

Not really raw if it has been marinated with citrus.

Hey Andy, On this one I gotta say No Thank You. Of course starvation would easily change my mind but that's not for me, especially the organ 🫀🫁 meat. Clams and Oysters I don't have a problem with as long as there's lemon and cocktail sauce. However, I thank you for eating it 🤢. Seeya next time ✝️

Crab and shrimp is one of the better ones eaten marinated. Raw beef or organs is probably one of the ones that I would be cautious of. I definitely miss Bangkok! Keep posting amazing videos :)
