It was great to come across this edition again on KZbin. Unfortunately for a number of reasons the planned excavations never took place. Hopefully one day they will get done. My book has long been out of print!

How do you get the book ? You just can't get it ? What do you think was up there? This is my first time hearing of this place. I have just recently procured many battle Relics from the Towton battlefield. Also Saxon, Roman pieces in the York area.

Unfortunately it's long out of print. There are copies on Ebay, but priced way over the original price. Lowest on Ebay is £22.99. The book is paperback and only 71 pages! A lot of what you have seen in Peter's video here is actually in my book so you wouldn't get much more information. I still have an open mind on what it was for.

Have you ever heard of a Wild West gang called the "Hole In The Wall Gang"? Butch Cassidy's gang. They used to hold up in canyon fortresses like "Hole in the Wall". They had no water at these locations, but they used them as lookouts to see who was coming their way, like the local posse or the sheriff. They lived elsewhere, where the water was. These locations were high up. They offered a tremendous view over the range. These were places that could be easily defended by very few people if needed. I think you have the same situation going on here with Carl Wark.

They are World War 2 practice trenches. Canadian soldiers practiced all around the area for D Day. any rocks have bullet holes in them.

This was fascinating up until the WWII stuff, I didn't see what relevance it had to the historical narrative. Still no tangible evidence of what the place was used for in the mists of time.
