Indeed but the logistics of that would be insane and the amount of power needed to push an iron gate up would mean very expensive hydrolics. Also there would be no way to manually operate them incase of power failure or fault.

I'll be honest with you. You'll have alot of engineering and money involved to landscape such an escarpment. Here in australia my property was qouted $200,000 for two tiers on a 25 degree average slope. This involved engineers to design retaining walls with support that ties into the slope. For you 1 tier might be all u get. As for your driveway I'd move your entrance to the left which then has a better raise over run ratio. You could have a final left turn towards the house to make transitions easy for low cars. Any good architect would come up with a good solution. I'm a building surveyor and see alot of house plans and commercial plans. My opinion is the driveway is easy ( probably cost money) and the unexplored backyard is difficult to say. Anything is possible with the right budget

Plenty of scope to do a steep garden there with a series of terraces, plant beds, steps and pools. Also to get enough fall on that driveway but leaving it at a shallow enough angle for a supercar, would mean sweeping the drive round in a curve to the left almost all the way to the garage.

Take off your address cause there are crazy people out there ! As for design , why stuck to the same layout? Instead of going straight down with short steep distance , have a longer distance by coming down along the wall where the palm trees are now. It will be not direct to your garage and you can have a fountain in the middle of the area . Move the short hill to the palm tree wall basically for less steepness and more open space

vuggie123 if you have the money almost everything is possible. Your idea however would be extremely expensive due to problems with the statics. You have to level the ground and keep the banked up land mass in place... possible but really expensive
