I hunt Elk on the back side of Chama. Beautiful country.

I grew up and live in south Texas and have been going to the Chama and that area for the past 40 years (every year and sometimes numerous times a year!). Such a beautiful area with lots to do and see. many interesting people there also. I have always liked to fly fishing and that area is by far my favorite area to fish. Thanks for sharing your visit!

The Cumbres & Toltec RR ride was the best one that my wife and I have ever ridden on! Next time that we are in Chama, we would like to get a closer view of the nearby Brazos cliffs.

I love Chama, I have volunteered to work on the Cumbress and Toltec RR, we did a lot of woodworking and sanding. There is also a Fireman and Engineer course where you can learn how to fire and drive the steam locomotive.

I drove through there one day going from Durango to Santa Fe, I didn’t really get to explore it that much but I remember it was such a nice peaceful small town, kinda like a Wild West town, I’m hoping in the future I can buy some land around there.

Apparently, this was AGK's favorite; "{Fishing}"✓ spot. A; "River of Rocks", is on the other side of the River there, & {some artistic Glacier}, decided; [to pick only; (certain size); Granite boulders]; & (to then place them); (up the side of a Mountain); (in only one particular area); & in only one place in the Rockies! Hmmmmmm🤔🤫

I would be too afraid of wild animals and snakes. Your grandfather looks like he's having fun.
