Exploring Chino's New Community Art Box Program

In a recent video, we explored the vibrant Chino Hills Utility Box Art Program. Now, I’ve got some thrilling news! The City of Chino has launched its own version of the program, and we're here to showcase the latest additions.
Welcome back to "Chino and The Hills: Secrets Exposed." I’m your host, Thomas Ryan, and today, we’re on the hunt for the four newest utility boxes that have been transformed into stunning works of art by local talent.
The Chino Community Art Box Program is a fantastic initiative aimed at:
1. Celebrating local art in Chino.
2. Enhancing the beauty of our community.
3. Highlighting Chino’s rich history.
Earlier this year, during the Chino Days event, an art competition was held, and the winning designs now adorn four utility boxes across the city. These pieces were unveiled in a special ceremony at Chino City Hall on July 26 and will be on display for at least a year.
Join me as we explore these creative masterpieces:
1. *Building Blocks of Chino* by Ayala High student Leenah Chang at Central and Chino avenues.
2. *Chino Spirit* by Joyce Hatzidakis, Kathryn Villareal, and Michelle Figueroa outside City Hall at Central and D Street.
3. A vibrant design by 7-year-old Luminous Flores at Central Avenue and C Street.
4. *Chino in 25 Years* by Talia Plackal near the Chevron station at Central Avenue and Riverside Drive.
If you’re an artist who missed out this time, don’t worry-the second phase is already in the works, and submissions are open until December 2nd.
To participate, make sure:
- You live, work, or study in the Chino Valley.
- Participants under 18 have parental consent.
- The artwork is original (no photos).
