I can personally vouch for how wonderful Cologne is around Christmas, and how festive it is! When my dad was in the military, we lived in Germany for 4 years. Going to the Christmas Market in December was our favorite thing to do every year. My brother and I always looked forward to going for that cup of hot chocolate that came with a free Christmas mug. Though it has been years since then, I hope they still have those mugs in Cologne. I still have mine, and sometimes I use them during the Christmas season.
