Although it won't make any difference in the long run, I am glad to see that this place hasn't really been vandalized much, just natural decay. Sad to see things that could be salvaged go to waste. The pendant lights here and there are cool. Having just purchased shades on ebay recently, It is a shame to see these just being left.

This was a top of the line Arts and Crafts style dwelling, and I was intrigued by the architectural details. It reminded me of something you might find in California or Washington State. I could tell much craftsmanship went into the construction, so it is a shame to see a well appointed building fall into this state of disrepair.

That place looks like a 20’s or 30s roadside inn later converted into an old age care home hence kitchen sign. Today would be called independent living. In inns back then sharing a bathroom was common. It’s not a leaking pipe IMO it was part of a spring that flowed into basement keeping food cold. Electricity in a city cane way before more rural areas.

Like all the antique lighting and push switches inside, building looks like an old motel with the room upstairs having the number 1 on the door. The pine sol and crisco bottles look like from the 60s when they were in glass bottles.

Place looks like it had been a very basic hotel at one time. Shared restroom and bathing facilities were common at such places back in the day. I'm going to hazard a guess and say the lower story stayed in business as a store or restaurant longer than the upstairs lodging portion did.

You shouldn't go into such a decrepit property by yourself. You could fall through the top floor all the way down to the basement & be severely injured. I would not go back to that house. To dangerous. Your are generally very cautious. But this one was really bad. It looks like someone has been using it as a dumping ground. At one time it was apparently a boarding house or group home (maybe for women & children). What was the heating source for the house? I only noticed one fire place & didn't notice any holes in walls for wood burning stoves (except kitchen).

That is not a "house", it as old roadside rooming house. The dishes all the same, the numbers on the door, the clawfoot tub, to just name a few things that are significant. That bathroom was added making an old closet made into a bathroom. Please take someone with you that knows about all of the history there is to see!
