As a Dane I'm used to this, and the small beach-houses are old, because today it isn't allowed to build houses close to the beach or close to a wood. And H.C.Andersen rented a room in Nyhavn, but most of his time he travelled as a - guest in large private homes or as a traveller in Europe, at a time using horse carriages and trains to get round. And he actually became extremely rich from the profit from his writings, because he had an, honest family member taking care of his Rights!

1:44 Odense is hardly „a small, vibrant town“, it is the third largest city in Denmark after Copenhagen and Aarhus. Perhaps you’ve confused the old town with the entire city?
