I've noticed this muddling of the concept of "entropy" across the internet. Entropy does not prohibit pockets of order or momentary periods of increasing complexity within a system. In fact, systems that expel useable energy and maintain order, such as the phenomenon called life, are fairly inevitable results of entropy, as far as I understand physics. It's not a "negative entropy". It's just another (known) consequence of entropy. Edit: to wit, which is more "complex" or more "orderly"? A screen with the left half set to black and the right half set to white or a screen with a random distribution of black and white pixels? I would honestly say that the former is more "orderly" but I would also describe it as "simple" which seems to violate your pairing of order-complexity vs chaos-simplicity.
