I don't think prisoners would be kept at the gates,those may be for tying the horses,the design of gates is such that there r provisions to enter without opening main door,the top passage,also in war if the main door is broken the troops can fight at the gates by entering through the sides,its interesting to know about the design of the fort gates

I have one question why did tipu sultan burn an village I don’t think he i think maybe his one of traitor commanders have tried to frame him but why did he burn it?

Let me give you a straight answer, Sultan never ordered any village to be burned but it's written in Kirmanis Original Historical Account of Tipu Sultan that, Many of Sultans traitors who were on top positions started to exploit people in Tipu Sultan's name, Because sultan himself was almost all time busy with wars with Britishers these traitor ministers like Mir Sadiq, kamruddin, Purniya etc. They were the ones who were doing many things without even letting sultan know the truth, There is an incident when sultan jailed purniya, kamruddin and mir Sadiq but he had to free them on promises that they will be loyal and good towards people, But unfortunately they Betrayed him again and joined British
