We were both laughing at the yellow ticket machines, the first time we were in Istanbul I think we spent 15 minutes trying to get a Kart out of the yellow machines!

Eskisehir is a very nice city known for being one of the most student-friendly cities in Turkey. They have three large universities and therefore had quite a large student population pre-covid (not sure how things are atm). Also, I believe the statues are thanks to their famous mayor (currently serving his 5th term) who himself is a vax sculptor.

@@hgworldtour no worries. I did my military service in that base in 1989-90. On the bus route to Ankara and Konya when you exit the city, you could've seen the big Eagle status. Inside the base there was also an US Airforce base. Not sure if they quit. Eskisehir is a city with blend of uni students military people and locals originally immigrated from Tatarstan. Just a " blah" city, nothing like Istanbul or Izmir. Someone dares compare it to Venice in Italy, oh please. This Sehir is just more than a village. Amsterdam ? You are kidding me
@hgworldtour3 жыл бұрын
What on earth are you talking about? We didn't even mention Izmir in the entire video and we only mentioned Istanbul to compare it's distance to Ankara, which is where we came from. Surely you can understand that when ANY CITY offers gondola rides a link to Venice would be made. I said it reminded me of Amsterdam AND Hamburg because of all the different types of bridges. Anyway, thanks for watching.

@@hgworldtour You didnt mention Izmir but I mentioned having been to both places ( Istanbul and Izmir ) and watching this video I can only say this Eskisehir is just a village. You can't compare Venice to any rathole that has a gondola ride,sorry.

@@ellisonevers9127 Eskisehir is a really nice and modern city, without the crazy tourist crowds of Venice. It does have a German vibe and many beautiful parks, much friendlier and kinder people than anywhere else, without the ugly slums on barren hills of İzmir too.
@BeryIstanbulTips3 жыл бұрын
I have had the chance of traveling to many cities within Turkey, Aegean and Mediterranean Coasts, Black Sea Region (where I also lived) and many others near Istanbul and I must say that Eskisehir really surprised me for its beauty, is not just a “blah” city or village. It’s been one of the most taken cared cities I have been to in Turkey so far, tons of green areas, nice gardens with beautiful statues everywhere. Colorful houses, a nice river passing through Eskisehir. In fact, I regret not visiting this city way before. Also I have had the chance of traveling to many cities in Europe, and at some point my husband and I had the feeling of being walking through Ljubjana, Slovenia, with plenty of cafes along the river, then in its old markets as if we were in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Nobody is saying is exactly like those cities but some little things can remind you of other beautiful cities too like Amsterdam (mainly for its vibe). At least Eskisheir hasn’t been touched by the mass of tourism and remains intact and there’s a large group of expats living there because is one of the coolest yet underrated cities in Turkey. Not packed as Istanbul or Izmir.
