Boxing Day 2022 and we are off to explore the Eyre Peninsula.
Leaving Adelaide we arrive at Whyalla in 40 degree heat and admire the circular jetty. Stingray spotting anyone??
Cowell and Tumby Bay deliver some spectacular Silo Art and Street murals that are not to be missed!
Our first camp spot for our trip is Point Gibbon Campground and we witness one of the best sunsets we have seen in a long time!
Join us as we begin our journey exploring the Eyre Peninsula in our new series for 2023!

Very good video. Informative and well put together. Great background music too. I love the straps in the back for holding your hats. Gotta get me something like that.

How ya find the RTT/Camping in Heat ??

We didn’t see it as a huge issue. We had portable fans attached in the tent above our heads. In saying this the temperatures were not too crazy when we visited. We find the tent more of a hassle when it’s cold! 🥶

Cheers for the feedback. Yes we didn’t track fuel and costings on this trip. We guess as it’s a small trip for us we didn’t really bother. In saying this, in the future we will track our fuel economy as it’s helpful for us and other travelers. Thanks for the feedback 🤙

The dolphins at Whyalla jetty are locals and very friendly. When I lived and worked there my cattle dog would often swim with them. Also used to rub their noses going out in the tinnie.

Oh wonderful! They definitely looked relaxed and willing to interact with boats and people. It was lovely to see them. ❤️

Why is the jetty round? Because whyalla loves roundabouts

Ha ha we never noticed the amount of roundabouts. Perhaps there is a connection there! 😀

Loved it. Never heard of Point Gibbon or Port Gibbon. Great spot. The street art at Tumby Bay was amazing. Very good. Looking forward to see Port Lincoln. -- Rob & Denise

I spent my first years on The Knob Farm, & used to walk down to the northern part of the Gibbon Beach ... and get back whenever I can. Very few seem to notice the beautiful geology of the cliffs near the creek outlet at the township and the 10 m high red bluffs composed of Pleistocene alluvium.
