Last weekend I made a trip to Mayaro Beach with the family and of course I had to take an early morning walk along the coast line to explore and see what I could catch!
Of course, this type of fishing does not really bring any huge catches, but the adventure, the scenery, the setting all make up for it! Catching the fish is always the bonus! This trip was no disappointment!
I explored three different lagoons, all completely different...And I caught fish in all three! Including one tiny body of water, where I really did not expect to catch anything! I totally enjoyed this mission!

Kos. These lagoons serve as hatcheries/nurseries for fish. There are also catfish in them. There are quite a few of them, the bigger ones at Lago Mahoe on Gill Street, Grand Lagoon, and Stonebright. Being born in Mayaro, living 8 years and some at Church Road, one minute from the beach, at times I reminisce. But for me now in Marabella, to face the Naparima Mayaro Road with its difficult terrain and traffic...........Mayaro at times seems to be a different world. Glad you enjoyed it. Fish on !

You see that first spot you gone… I does go there a lot and well you have to walk along the left side and go further to the back.. it filled with tarpon and good size snook for that area..I catch a snook like little over a pound last time
