Greetings, I would like to share some Insite on DNA testing and research. I have been doing genealogy and genetic research over 15 years. My maternal background is from Richmond, Danville, Martinsville, Henrico Virginia and my Paternal side is from Robeson County, North Carolina they are listed on the 1860 and 1870 census as Mulatto and other documents such as Birth Certificates and Marriage Certificates listed as Colored from 1901 - 1956, as well as Free People, but after the paper trail ran short, I took a Three different DNA test. The First was the Autosomal test, this is an Admixture DNA that goes back 8 generations or around 300 years back to the early 1700''s, this test will show a only a small percentage % of your Dna from both parents, grand parents from both sides and so on. FYI these test will NOT show you ANCIENT DNA and if you are looking for Autochthonous or Indigenous results this test will NOT tell you this. If you are looking to see if you have some traces of early Indian or European blood from the 1700-1900's this test will show that, any time line before that is null and void. The Second test is the most comprehensive test which is a FGS (Full Genome Sequence) test which test the Maternal side going back 20,000-50,000 years ago unchanged. The Third test was a Y-Chromosome 67-120 marker test for my Paternal side. The results for my Mothers side was Haplogroup L2a1e1, although it derives from a North African Haplogroup, its Geographic Origin that has six branches are completely Indigenous to America, and NOT Found in AFRICA. On the flip side My father Y-Chromosome E1b1a/M2 was found in North Sudan, and no genealogical records was found about anyone from either side coming off a Slave ship to Virginia. NOTE: None of the companies tell you about this, I had to do my own personal research to conclude my findings. I also have the genetic public record citations to unequivocally prove my Indigenous status to the Americas... I would love to speak in person if needed.. Here is the link to my Blog with Genetic Citations listed below: billygambelaafroasiaticanthropology.wordpress.com/2009/04/30/my-moms-mtdna-migration-map-of-haplogroup-l2a1/

Early 1800 's Edgecombe County Lower Fishing Creek area NC is the location of where my Mulattoe 6 Great Grandparents lived . He was a run away indentured servant.Their neighbors in the community were listed as black. I'm thinking that they were Tuscaroran remnants. We've never been able to trace earlier generations.

I have a similar background - on my paternal side, we go back to the early 1700s (as far as I got - genealogy) Edgecomb, Rocky Mount, Wilson, Nach, etc. On severa, census - there were mulattos, negro, POC, etc. Tuscarora indians, and there are european remnants too. Do you have any updates?

My ancestors were a splinter group of Croatan that migrated to western NC. They are mentioned by Halmilton Mcmillian, Secretary of Indian affairs. Family oral tradition is that they were Portuguese.

No one had anything to do with WHO they are...or when their Mother and Father got together and made them,,,,,They came out into the world Just as they were intended to and they can not change anything (naturally) to change anything about who they are...STOP,,,trying to be who you are NOT and just be the best person that you can be as YOU ARE!!!!

So, who are they NOT, since you put an emphasis on that.
