Exploring Front Ensemble Tech with Chad Kohler

J.W. Pepper’s creative team traveled to Indiana to spend time with the Fishers High School Marching Tiger Band, widely recognized as one of the best high school marching bands in the country.
Marching Tiger Band director Chad Kohler takes us through many of the technicalities that go into running the front ensemble-a full complement of 20 percussionists-including how to amplify each instrument, hook up equipment, and choose electronics including carts, mixers, and wireless microphones. He also goes through several helpful tips for every front ensemble, including some words of advice for smaller bands.
