Glasgow girl here. I'm now south/west along the seacoast but pop up to Glasgow a lot. I was born in Glasgow. I've lived all over the US, MX and these past 6 yrs back to Scotland. People forget how small this island is. Visitors are amazed that you can take the train from Glasgow to Edinburgh is only an hour. For years the west end of Glasgow out by Kelvingrove Museum and the vast park and the Botanical Gardens was the coveted spot. These past few years the Southend from the Shawlands down towards Newton Mearns has become the new spot. Glasgow has over 90 fabulous green parks some such as Pollack (Southend)with the highland Coo's roaming about. Queens park if you walked up the hill there is a lovely botanical area with a big greenhouse. I knew every street and place you visited. Glasgow is also very pet friendly and I usually take my wee dog with me into all the shops. There is so much more to see. If you're ever in the area again please reach out and I can give you some tips. I have several friends over in Edinburgh and myself love the Leith/Porebello, Abbeyhill and Stockbridge area.

Another delightful adventure! This time in the amazing City of Glasgow! I must say, the Southside is also very nice! With all the lovely Homes, unique Shops & Restaurants. Also, the Hotel you stayed at was very nice! As well as, Gusto & Relish(cute name), which was really cute & your lunches looked delicious! I also loved Bam! What a unique & quirky Shop! So many unique Items to purchase there! Indeed! You know Shawna, one of the loveliest things about your Videos, are the small, unique & touching things that you notice & capture on film on your way! They are always very sweet! Such as, the wee cat chilling on the sidewalk there & the other kitty perched on top of the roof of the car. As well as, the cute 'doggie in the window,' looking like he was waiting so patiently & longingly for his owner to come home & go out for a walk or to play. Then, the cuddly looking stuffed White Bear sitting in the other window! Very sweet! Finally, last but definitely not least, was the peaceful walk around beautiful Queen's Park & then along Queen's Drive! Aaaah! What more could we ask for? Well, maybe just a Pizza from Paesano's! LOL. Mmm! It looked so yummy! Thank you for sharing this delightful experience in wonderful Glasgow Shawna! Blessings to you & also to your Mum! Lovely to see you both enjoying another mother/daughter outing together! Those are truly times to treasure!

I’ve taught in North Glasgow for 25 years (all the way across from Edinburgh) and never been to the south of Glasgow. The difference could not be more stark..! I may take a trip when I retire after seeing your vlog. Thank you.

There are so many hidden gems in Glasgow if you know where to look , travelling through the city on the M8 doesn't do it any favours but if you do a bit of exploring , there are many areas outside the busy centre that are worth visiting !.

Great video as always Shawna! Would love to see you do a video where you talk about yourself so that we can get to know you better e.g. your job, experience at uni, your favourite/least favourite things about living in edinburgh, making friends as an adult etc!

Yes you were definitely on the south side( just). Perhaps next time you could push a little further out and visit Holmewood House. It was built in 1850 by Alexander “ Greek” Thomson for a Glasgow businessman. It is now run by the National Trust. It was at one point a convent primary school which I attended. I think you would get off at Cathcart station but from there it is quite a steep hill to climb. Alternatively you could get the train to Muirend and walk from there . That walk is largely on the flat but might take you a bit longer maybe 25 minutes.Haven’t lived in Glasgow for 35 years but retain happy memories. Thanks for reviving them.
