Exploring Green Head & Cliff Head| Dog-Friendly Beach Camping on Western Australia's Coral Coast

Welcome to our journey along Australia's Coral Coast, where we uncover the tranquil beauty of Green Head and Cliff Head. Starting just a short 28 kilometres north of the picturesque Sandy Cape Campground, Green Head greets us with its pristine beaches and rugged coastline. We pitched our tents at the serene Milligans Island Eco Camp, a budget-friendly option at $20 per night, boasting expansive campsites with picnic tables and BBQs, all set against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean. Despite visiting in May, the weather was perfect for fishing and exploring the Three Bays Walkway and Dynamite Bay, though a tad cool for swimming. Plus, being dog-friendly made it an ideal spot for us and our fur baby Oz.
Continuing our adventure northward, we ventured off the Indian Ocean Drive onto the Brand Highway to reach the enchanting Cliff Head North Campground. Nestled amid limestone cliffs, this campground offers spacious sites, drop toilets, and picnic tables just steps from the beach. Here, campfires are allowed (BYO wood), creating the perfect ambiance for sunset gatherings with fellow travellers. During our stay, we took a delightful day trip to the charming twin towns of Dongara and Port Denison, where we savored locally caught fish and chips on the beach, a true taste of coastal life.
Our journey along this stunning coastline is all about traveling slow, taking in the natural beauty, and embracing the freedom of exploration without the rush. Whether you're seeking budget-friendly camping options, dog-friendly beaches, or simply a peaceful retreat with breathtaking views, Green Head and Cliff Head have something special to offer.

Thanks for that - we’ll definitely stop back in there on our way south. Our table is the Stratus a outdoor Derek. It’s a ripper - lightweight but really stable. We liked it so much we bought a second one to sit the bbq on.
