The red signal means a train can't pass that signal . It will pull right up to that signal . And that's a guard rail next to the running rail not an old track . They run work trains and reroute trains all the time . Be careful and never assume a train isn't coming.. always assume a train can come any time from any direction.

I hope so! It's my dream to keep exploring all parts of this city and share it directly with an audience as opposed to needing brands or gatekeepers. There was almost an Undercity TV show at one point (we had an airdate and pilot). I've see over and over how these little ideas get killed by the process. I hope this channel can be a place I can bring you these explorations in a way that stays untouched and directly made for you.

Daaaang. Talk about a throwback to the past. Excited to see what you guys are up to. Oh and small suggestion for audio. Might be worth getting an external recorder. Maybe something with 32bit float audio so that you can adjust the peaks in post and so that you still have solid range for when you need to talk, but have to deal with intermittent super loud sounds.
@andrewwonder3 жыл бұрын
I am totally with you. We lost a lot of audio recorders in those tunnels and you could imagine how it worked when I tried a lav! At one point I built a little recorder onto Steve's belt with a lav. What always surprised me in the mix is how important the on-camera sound is to make it feel like the experience.

That older looking rusted over rail isn’t actually a rail the trains wheels run over. It’s a guard rail to stop the train from completely losing direction in the event of a derailment on the curve.

@@andrewwonderI have a question - in the last video where he was exploring the subways and the like, in the part of the video where he was exploring the homeless people living on the west side in the tunnels... I want to tread carefully to not risk exposing these people's location so they can just live in peace, but I am left wondering where off the beaten path of Amtrak's west side line that is - if it is close to an old wye, and if those aren't questions you feel comfortable answering, how much old yard track did y'all observe off the main line? (since the west side used to be COVERED in rail lines) Hope my rambling made SOME sense XD
