Hey Sam, Colby, just a tip for dealing with predatory animals. Never run. It triggers their hunting instincts. Larger predators will chase you down. Cyotes are about the largest thing that won't automatically chase you depending on the context

This would be great advice but Coyotes are scavengers. They won’t attack anything bigger than them unless they’re protecting their den. Coyotes are like medium sized dogs. They certainly won’t attack 4 grown guys. From what it sounded like, they’re probably trying to find their way back to their pack. They call out to find their packs. They are prevalent in Oklahoma and Kansas so I’m always confused why they don’t know that. Lol

Pro tip: Pack a "fire evacuation ladder" in your back pack, if you need to get off somewhere high or upstairs when cops are chasing you. They're compact and affordable (not a big deal if you leave behind) I used them to sneak out when I was a teenager, just like rope ladders
