I live in southern Indiana. I am an Elvis fan. I was 7 when Elvis died. Like you when I was in jr and high school I had Elvis scrapbooks and collection. I am 54. Still love him. Your video on James Dean reminded me of that. I will have to visit Fairmount. I have a few of Jimmy’s movies. Thank you for memories and sharing.

Thank you for the tour. I was starryeyed over Elizabeth Taylor and through her James Dean . Have no idea why Giant was okay for elementary students, but my cousin and I went because National Velvet starred in it. A couple of years ago my two nieces and I went to Marfa, Texas for a week. We saw the tribute to Giant - huge cutouts of the actors and the only parts left of the house. We ate at the Hotel Paisono where the cast stayed.

Fairmount is just down state rd. 26 from where I live in Kokomo. I have been through there many, many times, and antique shopped there. I have only been to one of the festivals. My husband loves the older cars, so we spent a lot of time looking at the cars. But I have never been to the museum or any of the places that you showed us. I really need to do that. Thank you for taking us along with you. 😊

Hi Misty. Really enjoyed this tribute to James Dean. It was very interesting seeing a glimpse into his short life. I love his movies Giant and Rebel without a cause. He was a great actor for sure . Thank you so much for sharing. I love the shirt you found that was made from vintage sheets. So cool. Also liked your James Dean earrings. Take care my sweet friend. God Bless You and Your Family.

Thanks, Misty for a lovely trip down Memory Lane. James Dean made quite a splash in Hollywood for such a short amount of time he spent acting. I wonder if his modest headstone was due in part to his humble background as a Quaker. The Quaker religion is very humble and modest. You certainly gleened a lot of information to pass along. Again, thanks. I'ms so glad you had such a great trip.

I love these videos so very much!! I could see how much he means to you and I understand that. ❤ There was a time when I was obsessed with Elvis. I’ve told you before that I love him, but after he died I was SO sad. Extremely sad! I played records constantly and read whatever I could find. How did we get along before the internet? 😂 Anyway, I can relate to your celebrity “obsessions”. I appreciate learning more about Jimmy from you, because of your love for him. ❤

I just made the pilgrimage to Fairmount in May! It's been on my bucket list for years. I went to Marion to his birth site memorial and mother's grave as well. The museum guide said they plan to have his car on display when the new museum opens. You are so right about the local folks; they were all wonderful. If you are a James Dean fan, you need to get to Fairmount. Your scrapbooks are wonderful. Oh, I also made it to Mini Measures in Remington. It was right along the interstate we traveled 😊

You've inspired me to take a trip out to Fairmont, Indiana for the 70th anniversary. I'll be retired by then and free to travel anytime. I had been to the crash site 7 or 8 years ago. My friend and I are also "weirdos" when it comes to visiting the gravesites of the famous whenever we travel. On one trip, we found the sight where Bonnie and Clyde had been ambushed then went to visit the gravesites where they're buried. Gotta put Lorretta Lynn on my visit list too after watching your video. (Don't get me started on all of the Elvis adventures I've been on.) Thx for including your travels along with all of your other content. For those who may not travel much, you just add something more for their enjoyment. 🎉

Wow great video/story! I was wondering how or what got you interested in him. I mean it wasn’t like a teenage crush on a movie star, you were very young like in elementary school when you were writing about him, etc. Was it a parental influence or was it just because he was locally close to you? Love love the scrapbooks! Thanks for sharing a story that was very special to you! Very interesting!
