No, that is not correct. The name Leica does not appear in connection with this camera in the past. Today it is called Ur-Leica, but in the past it was simply the Leitz camera. The name Leica only came into play in 1990 when Leitz (at that time Wild-Leitz) merged with Cambridge Instruments. So Leica does not stand for Leitz Camera but for Leitz Cambridge Insturments. However, today's Leica Camera AG likes to conceal this and present it differently, which is better for the image. In the same way, Leica Camera AG does not hold the rights to the name Leica but Leica Microsystems and Leica Camera has to pay annual license fees to Leica Microsystems for this name. Likewise, the location of the new Leitz Park has nothing to do with the original Leitz site. The original site is in the middle of the town of Wetzlar, where Leica Microsstems is still located today.

Have own and used the M4-2, M6, M9, M10 and M2 and my favorite is the M2 due to it clean single frame line viewfinder. Have even found that I don't missing having 28mm frame lines as I find that I much prefer using an external 28mm view finder over the 28mm frame lines found on cameras like the M6, M9 of M10. Mostly use an M2 with Tri-X these days with the M10 for color.

Leica = M Cameras. Currently, in my opinion, M11-P and M11 Monochrom are the best Leica cameras ever made.

But M11 P is literally same as M 11 with some additional features. How can the M11 be better than the M 11 P? M11 P = M 11 + more storage + Saphir Glass + Authentication.
