I had a great experience of kindness in this beauty of a town about 35 years ago. We lived in a ski town in CO Summit County and we all lived in Dillon and one of the girls did a Summer gig at Yellowstone and talked us all into going one summer. So the only person with a car and not a truck had ano old Volvo. So I believe it was 5 of us drove it to Yellowstone in about 15 or 20 hours if memory serves me right. We had a space in Yellowstone and were out exploring and doing amazing stuff and then we noticed the old Volvo was overheating. So me and the other guy set off to get the part we needed and hitched a ride into Livingston (felt bad for the girls back at camp because it was raining). I can't remember how or where the conversation with this man started and we told him our situation. He told us he knew where we could get the part but it would take a day or 2 to get there. Now this was before cell phones so no way to let the girls know what was going on. But this guy invited us to stay at his house as we waited for the pump to arrive. He took us on a small boat ride outside of his old blue country home it was on that boat I saw my first moose and we were super close to it . Was amazing. This was before Colorado started importing moose there. Any how he fed us and after the part arrived he drove us to our campsite and he installed the water pump. In my mind this will always be the kindest most welcoming town in all of America. Can't wait to go back one day. I would definitely like to live there now that I am in situation where I can live anywhere I choose just about. If you go to Yellowstone this is a must go to little town!

I’m taking a nursing travel assignment here and wow it’s absolutely beautiful. Coming from beautiful Bayou St John in New Orleans it’ll be nice to go from bayou views to mountain views for a while.
