Oh boy, where to start? This video resonated so much with me... My parental heritage stems from Møn, and in fact several of my ancestors were bell ringers at 'Fanefjord Kirke' - a trade that passed from generation to generation. In Stege, I've loved eating at 'Slagter Stig', where I've enjoied really rare cuts of all kinds of exotic meat. My closest family and I used to go to Nyord once every easter, and we used to have cofee and cake at 'Lolles Gård' - a restaurent with a wonderful atmosphere! Nyord is also the home base of 'Noorbo Handelen' A spirits monger, who also has an outlet at 'Torvehalderne' in Copenhagen, but Nyord is where the casks are stored. I find it delightful to go around at have small tasters, before setteling on a pint (or more) of a fine single cask spirit!

If you like looking at stars, and maybe get a little more detail on them and such, I would recommend downloading the app called Skywalk 2. You can get it with all the information available there for around 40DKK I think it was. It has a compas function where you see the night sky where you're at and you can look around through the phone to see what stars are where relative to you. You can see constallations and that they are not infact on a plane but stars light years away from eachother, you can click on stars, the moon, constallations and more to get extra info on them. It can also be a little technical with the position in the sky in horizontal coordinates and all that. Overall, it's a really awesome app! :)

Now that y'all ask for some good and exciting places to visit, that is also pretty historically interesting; Try Roskilde Domkirke, this church is the Danish Kings and Queens are buried inside of the church. Their tombs are exceptionally beautiful. The church itself has a history itself for their two very big towers. The history of these towers is that the King travels away from Denmark while his Queen is pregnant and cause she gives birth to twins, she has the two towers built so that the King can see the towers a long way from the town and know that she gave birth to twins (Back then the town Roskilde was the capital of Denmark and Copenhagen was a small market town.) The church inside is absolutely gorgeous and very historical, very big and elegant.

When you head down to Møn next time, may I suggest taking a minor detour to the village of Faxe, and take a look at "Faxe Kalkbrud" (Faxe Limestone Quarry). Please GOOGLE it, as it's a pretty darn big open quarry with incredibly beautiful water in it, as well as chances of finding fossils... When you are close to entering the village (depending on which road you use), you'll get the aroma of winegums or "labre larver" as "HARIBO" is located here. Faxe brewery (now part of Royal Unibrew) is also here, and you can get that distinct scent of the brewing process. Just a thought... 😊👍 Stay safe! 👋👋

Miranda: a strange fact concerning the whitewashing of the church frescoes. It happened pretty much in every Danish church post reformation. Decorating the church was considered a vulgar catholic tradition. But it actually preserved many of the frescoes, so if it hadn't been for some over-zealous protestant movement in Denmark, most frescoes would have been lost to time.

That being said, Samsø should still be a place to visit for multiple reasons, maybe the festival since they like music, so they can combine it with star gazing, when they are there.

For many years you could only sail to Nyord, but I think in the late sixties a one lane bridge was built to the Island. But the farms are still in the original, for the time, group of buildings intended for a farming for all in common. A real communist idea, many years before anybody thought about this! And the chamber tombs are in several versions also nearby, as a tomb rebuilt on Knudshoved Odde, near Vordingborg. A new cover stone was found, as the original tomb had become dangerous, and now it is like originally intended, with an earth cover, and a constantly dry chamber. But most people couldn't read so the paintings in the churches are for people having something to look at, during the most boring sermon for hours, in Latin! And looking at the "Elmelunde Master" group of paintings, people really don't seems to care, if they go to Hell or to Heaven! And in Vordingborg Church, the painter has made fun of one of his colleagues and has made a not so flattering painting of a mans head, with a band below: "Jeppe Murer"! A "murer" is a brick-layer! It wasn't intended to be seen and was most likely covered shortly after, but during a repair in the nineteen thirties, a painting was seen as a shadow behind the white chalk cover from later times, so it was made visible again, and is to this day!!!
