My friend, Nick, who I met during my visit to Meghalaya told me I HAVE to visit his hometown, Majuli.. so I quickly booked a trip with ChaloHoppo and here I am!
Welcome to the largest river island in the world! It is also known as the cultural capital of Assam and is the first island to be made a district in India.
This was my first visit here and this lush green paradise in the Brahmaputra River has left me mesmerised with its diverse tribal culture and rich wildlife.❤️
In this episode, I explored the unique attractions of Majuli… visited the ancient Vaishnavite monasteries called Satras and saw a beautiful troupe’s graceful dance; went to the pottery village of Salmora and learned how to create pots with just my bare hands; explored the mask-making culture and history of Samaguri and ended the day experiencing the most stunning sunset!!🌅
