I agree. Some they do a great job with and some they don't. The 32 Ford has to be my favorite by far. The others are so so. I have been leaving them on the pegs. I did get two of the 32. One for a custom. Thank you for sharing.

I think that M3 may be a collector, if for nothing other than the fact the hood opens in the wrong direction. Also I have that exact BRZ model carded. When my wife goes out shopping she’ll pick me up a couple cars and that one she was excited to show me, and while internally I had the same reaction as you, when it’s your significant other buying it for you, you have to say it’s awesome

My grievance with the Celica was the plastic chassis. The first one I purchased had a cracked bumper which was not able to be seen until opened. But overall I loved that generation of Celica. I purchased two so I could save the card artwork and one to display.

You’re right. MBX is missing on the stance way too often on these premium cars. I was excited when MBX announced the Audi and Celica but I can’t buy them because they are dorky with the 4x4 stance.

I agree. I still bought them, lol I did a wheel swap on the Celica. It helped, but still not "right." Maybe I'll lower it at some point 🤷‍♂️

Really like the Audi and BMW. I love the Unimog casting as well, but just not in that call of duty fall camo livery lol.

If you like the 32 ford, give the Ford COE in mooneyes from the collector series a shot. Another nice casting

Dave - I think you are correct about the stance. It appears to be worse with the collectors series va the other series for some reason. Last years or earlier this years Blue 442 would have been my model of the year had they not jacked up (pun intended) the stance.

The Audi is probably my favorite in terms of pure body style...just needs to be a little lower. That M3 is dope.

Yeah, the stance is often "meh" on Matchboxes. I think most of them will look fantastic once you swap in slightly smaller size wheels and lower the body. I recently did such with the Matchbox Mitsubishi 3000GT and it now looks superb.

You do know the hood opens the wrong way on the BMW. They did it right on the Celica. And I think the Unimog is a chase.

Yeah, the '32 Ford looks pretty good. I agree with you about the stance of the Audi. It looks too tall. I also wish that Matchbox would put more effort into getting the wheels right. They have what, 3 different wheels that they put on almost everything? You'll see that ... what do you call it... dog dish wheel? And they'll put it on a 1940s Ford and a 1980s car and a 2014 car, and.... Since buying a MiniGT a couple years ago, I've gotten spoiled by these various nicely detailed super premium models. I buy very few mainlines now. But I will find a good one, now and then.

I have to agree on the BRZ (GR86). In 1:1 those are fantastic looking cars! None of the castings seem to capture it though. Even the Mini GT versions don't transfer well to 1:64.

My favorite out of this set is the ford convertible. It's the only one out of this set I wanted and can't find it. The only one I've seen is the unimog.

The celica looks pretty close to the original 1 to 1 car. It may be a bit off, but not by much. It's an ok car, but I do like the look of this era of cars from all counties. The 1932 Ford is one of the nicer castings overall. I just like these old hot styles of car design. The Audi is nice looking and, for me, adds to the lines Audi castings I have from matchbox and hotwheels that represent the newer lines car that Audi makes. The Mercedes is ok the the proportions are off. I did buy it it at least represents the car design. If a nicer castings of it comes along, I will buy it.

The Audi is my favorite, but can't find them around here. That Model A roadster is pretty nice too. The Celica looks too tall and too short in length. The wheels ruin the Mercedes sedan IMO.

The Ford Roadster is definitely my favourite here. Agreed, it's not normally the kind of car I go for myself, but those wheels make all the difference here. I am pretty disappointed with the execution of the Celica GT Liftback. That car is a classic in its own right and recognised as the Mustang-style Celica. But the stance is just wrong. The proportions aren't quite right, and the wheels should have been both a little thinner and tucked under the arches - Ironically, the Celica appears much better on the box art. As it is, it just looks 'lifted'. The Audi shares the same wheel issue.

That shade of orange on the Celica is just bad. Bummer cuz I love 70s Celicas. The Roadster is my favorite.

A little half-hearted, I think. You should stick to what interests you, as opposed to obligatory reveals. 10:30 I think the problem with Matchbox, and you may quibble with me, is that they sit a little too narrow. As a result, they look very long. And a problem that accentuates this is that the tires are too wide, with the result that much of the width of the Matchbox car is occupied by tires. A lot of Matchbox cars end up looking like Twizzlers, albeit in a variety of colors.

I love MBX, but they sometimes do my head in. The Toyota is ok, but they chose the same colour they gave the Misubishi, that has almost the same body shape as the Toyota. Kinda bad marketing really. The Mercedes casting is not nice, at all. Too small, wrong colour, as well, big gaps on opening doors, not detailed enough, just wrong. Subaru´s wheels are too big. Unimog is the same casting as in basic, with a plastic base, and doesn´t really belong into the collector´s series. BMW´s hood opens the wrong way (don´t know how that could have happened...). The Audi is my favourite casting here, but the tinted windows don´t fit one bit to this car, and the wheels are far too big. Best one out of the lot, the ´32 Ford. Beautiful.
