FYI these lakes run parallel to the beach.

We forget how diverse Australia is, this looks like an upscale weekend retreat. It does remind us of areas we've been to in the US. Get that tomato sauce on those chips, I can smell them from here.

I'm embarrassed to admit I've never been to Gippsland Lakes. It looks like a tranquil spot and a wonderful place for summer holidays with the family. Your kids look like they are having a ball.

If you ever get down this way let us know. We can meet up for some fish'n'chips in Metung

As children we holiday here xmas with many other kids we would get into mischief with , i wonder my grandmother own a property maybe 5 - 6 properties toward sailing club, 3 houses down from slim dusty's place that was until the mid 1980's do you remember the heated pool not far from sailing club great times we had a put put clinker boat with a hand cranked single cylinder we would be allowed and take the boat out ourselves only 20+ years old imagine today how that would go down thanks for sparking my memory great memories

Metung looks like a quaint little town. I always enjoy small towns positioned on the water. Something about them just relax me. During our road trip, we stopped in quite a few towns along the east coast of the US. Looks like a fun little place to explore!

Metung looks lovely! Would love to have a cold beer sitting at the dock. Looks like a great place for a saturday afternoon. Yeah, agree Australia is expensive everywhere.

Haven't heard of this spot, but looks fantastic! Definitely expensive drink prices but I guess you're paying for the view as well ;)
