We called them hedge apple. Put them in cabins, attics garages and they keep out mice and will generally dry out over time.

LFD, I'm lovin' your own corner of paradise! I feel that a tiny little cabin back in that bush is a must. Keep up the great entertainment.

That second backyard buck was a stud. I’d be rethinking “not hunting deer” in the back yard. I was able to hunt the back yard growing up in high school and it was really fun. You can be very selective and have specific target bucks. (Which I know you can do anywhere) Otherwise just watch and enjoy them.

Sweet! Your property reminds me of mine when I first got it, the back of my property was overgrown like that, and I made one nice trail that went back and made a loop back to the house and maybe a week and a half later all the deer were using my trail to come feed on my grass.

U might call the pond profesor and see about getting a a recirculating stream put in they are great for addding aerationand making the pond crystal clear u can even do it yourself, on the cheap side just pick up a pond pump and some rock and we used cocks and high strength concrete dry set then painted it with pond paint and lined it with red cinder rock its close to 50' and the pond runs so clear and the water sounds so awesome cost less then 2k .

At 11:59, there is something huge and black behind you. -about thirty feet maybe. Then, camera view changes and when it goes back to your face, it's not there anymore. Maybe you're carrying and I just can't see it. But carry SOMETHING when you go in the woods. I would find somebody to clear out all of the fallen trees asap-esp with a drought happening.

I would guess that backyard pond was built to provide a reliable water source to attract deer and pigs. Considering the fact that the wooded section of your property is so dry and not manicured (natural) compared to your neighbors (as you said). Maybe a previous owner was a hunter like you and wanted to harvest deer and pigs during the season. Again, just a guess on my part. The purpose of the rudimentary pond baffled me until this video.
