Appreciate your exuberance regarding Hall. I walked in your footsteps many years ago. We found Hall quite by accident. I was ecstatic by the discovery. We had stayed for a week in a small beautiful Village called Tannheim in the Sud Tirol. An unforgettable experience. Travelling East we happened on Hall. What a great discovery! Loved it so much we stayed overnight. If you haven`t discovered Tannheim, i would thoroughly recommend a visit! Love all your videos. Keep them coming and safe travels! Wow, another awesome video! My list of places to explore keeps growing thanks to you guys, lol. I really appreciate the time you take to make these videos & all your thoughts & opinions. You guys are my favorite KZbin travel channel. I personally would love more off the beaten path videos like this one 😊

Thank you so much! They really means a lot. I just wish I wasn’t so worried about tanking the channels growth by going too far off the beaten path as we’ve been burned before unfortunately.

Thank you for this great video. I had never heard about Hall before and now it is on my travel list. Watching this video made me realise what I didn't like about the Innsbruck video. I know people on KZbin are always concerned about algerythms, how many clicks, how many likes and the more of them the better. This is natural behaviour and very understandable. However, this turns out videos that are all constructed to fit a certain formular. Everything has to be fast moving, colourful and flash. Everything is a Superlative and the negative sells more than the positive. In your Innsbruck video you brought across that point and why showed us why you don't like this trend, as your video moved fairly close to conforming to this formula. In the Hall video you were again, as you have always been and I realised what I like about you and Camille. You are so enthusiastic about the things you love and this enthusiasm comes across with everything you say. You are so authentic in the things you say. Your videos are slow moving, you take interest in the little things that are missed by other travel channels. You have idears that are unconvetional, eg your graveyard tours, you prefer public transport to using the car, you give places the centre stage that other vloggers would not condider and your judgement is sencere and can be trusted. I can appriciate that you are after all having to sell a product, ie your vlogs, and that you have to of course give your audience what it wants. In a way like a musician. David Bowie, for example, was great when he wrote songs for the record market, but he is most remembered for the songs he wrote for himself. A mixture of borh is most probably ideal, I know it is a huge balancing act. To boil it down to a message in a nutshell if you want to make a video about Bad Reichenhall and the Berchtesgadener Land then do so. I will defenitely watch it and I am sure I will Like it, too.

You do the style of travel that my husband and I have always been doing. We always look for places that have not been inundated with tourists or even worse the tourist buses. I absolutely love your channel, you present the videos in a more personal passionate manner. Most people just want to go to Disneyland and don't care about the real towns or culture. Example, Hallstatt Austria and the over popularity of the Christmas markets and Oktoberfest for foreign tourists. I do not visit these. We go to small town Herbstfests and small Christmas markets. I absolutely hate crowds, lining up and then being disappointed for things that have been overrated touristy attractions. Heck, even here in Toronto, I won't line up for popular restaurants or events

We regularly watch your informative videos. We visited Berchtesgaden this time from Salzburg, visited Ramsau but due to shorter days had to skip Konigsee but we shall do it next time. We also wanted to visit Herrenchiemsee but couldn’t, next time will do. Have added Hall of Tirol to our list of places to see when in Innsbruck. Keep adding more and more towns that are not touristy and as travelers we can enjoy them more and enhance our travelling experience.

Thanks for the video! Really enjoy all your videos. I was in Füssen, Garmisch Partenkirchen and Mittenwald from Oct 28th-Nov 2nd and thought of you guys while there because I've seen your videos on Obberamergau and the area. I fell in love with Füssen and Schwangau but agree with you on Innsbruck! never heard of Hall in Tirol but now next time I'm in the area I want to visit it for sure! The church alone is worth it!

I always enjoy the small towns and villages in Europe. You get a glimpse of the day-to-day life and culture. I was stationed at Panzer Kasern in Boblingen - Sindelfingen in 70-71 and we would just pick a direction and go into the country. I was never disappointed. I remember the small village of Calw. We had such a great time with the Ältere Menschen and their stories of Russian soldiers. They convinced them that toilets were potato washers and would wonder where the potatoes went when they flushed them. I don't know if that was true or just a story, but it was fun eighter way

It is one of my absolute favorite places, but i genuinely am worried about the video just bombing and no one watching. The channel has been on a bit of a down swing lately, which is why I accidentally griped so much about it in this video.

@@NearFromHome Is this why you went so negative with the Innsbruck thumbnail? I noticed many KZbinrs go negative and dramatic with the thumbnails for clicks. Scotty Kilmer is an extreme example. (You're not a car guy so you probably haven't seen him) Even the Travel Beans do this from time to time for clicks. Your channel is great.

@ Yeah, I mean I don’t believe I was being disingenuous but I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t strategy to it. Throwing yet another Innsbruck video onto the pile made by everyone much bigger than me felt like a wasted opportunity. Through a lot of my personal online itinerary checks I noticed that far too many people were including Innsbruck in itineraries where it didn’t make sense. So I decided to pick on Innsbruck, take a stronger angle, and make a video not just about Innsbruck but about how easy it is to shoehorn plans. Not sure if I accomplished that, but that was my goal.

Some close(r) to Vienna towns that are mostly unknown, but must have been places for Austrians in 1 route: Grinzing/Kahlenberg, all Wachau (you mostly covered), Erlauftal from Purgstall over Scheibbs to Lunz and eventually Erlaufsee, Ötscher, Admont, then maybe Spielberg and surrounding -F1 track and massive green styrian mountains around, with mining tunnels and the mideval "Eisenstrasse" including all the tracks of how they brought minerals and iron to Vienna, you can explore forever, back to where you came from - Vienna. Every way or street from styria to Vienna is impressively green, contrastful and just giving you a nice vibe, less ruff and rocky than Innsbruck, like the PPL.

@@NearFromHome BTW, i have a flat infront of the "Ötscher". It's not that high, but a Massive, impressive Mountain and 1 of 2 "gates" to the styrian alps (the other one is the Rax) in the south of lower Austria, but i enjoy everything behind it more tbh... Nature, food, building style and the calm PPL make you feel more comforting than on my side, beside the Erlauftal up to Ötscher and Erlaufsee, what's is a beauty, it's simply better there ;) Greez

I just watched this. Great episode. You have become my favorite travel channel, just ahead of Endless Adventure and Travel Beans. Rick Steves used to promote Hall but I quit buying his books when he wouldn’t shut up about his political views. Do people still buy paper guide books anymore? Anyway, I have always wanted to check out Innsbruck but old habits die hard and we keep going back to Salzburg as we have friends who we visit that own a shop on the Linzergasse. If we make it to Tirol I'd have to take the Sommerrodelbahn at Imst. That's on my bucket list. Keep up the good work.
