I could see Cozens doing well with Zetterlund and Toffoli. Give him some Vets that can help him out. That would put Eklund, and the Boston Alums together. Cozens value is way down right now though. His 31G season from two years ago if firmly in the rearview mirror. Will Smith is giving the Sharks just about the same production as Cozens is giving Buffalo. So, it would be a definite buy low situation. Buffalo has all their retention slots too. Even a 16% retention would be good to bring him down to a 6M cap hit for the Sharks. I really like the out of the box thinking, but I would not use a 1st on Cozens.

Definitely great idea to get Cozens but I would not give away 1st round from Dallas to trade for him. For Rossi it’s probably more worth to do it. But I still don’t think that this is a doable trade for the Sharks because both of those teams will be intersted in NHL players more than picks and prospects imo. Anyway, hopefully MG will use the 1st rounder from Dallas for a good player and not to draft someone.

If Grier could somehow finagle his way to ship wennberg to Buffalo with the late first and maybe a prospect like havelid? I don’t think buff needs any more forward prospects, but idk abt giving up havelid
