Nah this is still unintended. The devs just reused the water physics from sections of the game where you're actually supposed to be able to interact with the water, which is why the life ring spawns on Astro

Ever noticed we can never get a .02 or a .05 in the Storm Run speedrun? Weird.

That happens because of the games framerate. Basically the game runs at 60fps, which means that one frame is approximately 0.0166... seconds long. So let's say that you get 42.59, this means that your time is 42.599... seconds long. Then if you beat your 42.599 by one frame, your time will be 42.583 (game shows this as 42.58 on the leaderboard) because 42.599 minus 0.016 gives you 42.583. Then if you beat your 42.583 by one frame, instead of getting 42.57, you get 42.566 because 42.583 minus 0.016 is 42.566. This is why some times like 42.57, 42.55, 42.52 and 42.50 aren't possible

I assume devs sometimes add objects out of bounds to test things and then they delete them afterwards, but sometimes they leave them in because it's not like anyone is ever going to see them anyway

@@Mark_KZbin yes, they take space, which is why devs usually would take them out, but one extra boat in a level as short as frozen run isn't going to cause the PlayStation 5 to explode. The boat might also unload as soon as it gets out of the players view, so it being there wouldn't matter
