It's not Tibet. But a Tibetan region in Yunnan Province. BTW, Tibetan is a cultural concept. There're multiple provinces and regions being Tibetan in China, including the Tibetan Plateau, Sichuan Province, Yunnan Province, Gansu Province, Qinghai Province, & Xinjiang.

I've known a lot of Tibetans and as far as I know majority of Tibetan want to thank the government because they are pulled from desperate poverty due to the good policy and intensive investment of the government into the region. Nowadays there are paved road in almost every village in Tibet, and I know USA still has 40% of road which is unpaved in its rural area... So face the truth and come to Tibet to talk to local people, it will open a new world to you.

This is a far cry from 1996 when I was there. Concrete paved roads were unheard of at that time. Visiting a distant village meant a Yak and cart ride! I'm fortunate to revisit my Asian roots through your videos and winsome narration. Definitely will try to follow your journeys through China as a bucket list item after finding my family roots in Guangdong.

I just had a very tough day and feeling overwhelmed, thanks for this video that brings some inner peace back. This is not the most scenery village but it’s raw beauty, the way you present and the music bring peace and happiness to me. Surprised to see that the Tibetan Village is still here in the present day. I learned briefly about their culture in General Studies class back in elementary school, which was Zhonghua minzu (中華民族).

It's been almost ten years since I've visited Tibet. The images from these videos bring back great memories of the mountainous scenery and the yaks. The two of you look unaffected by the high altitude. I needed to take medication for the thin air in the area. Keep up these great videos!

Ok K and W, there's a folklore you should know regarding the amount of Yaks, Cows that you've seen. Now, the reason why there's so many of them around and funny looking as you've commented is that they were once humans like you and they were circling the prayer wheels the "wrong" way and that's why when reincarnated they've become, YAKS! Even they've tried to go the other way but too late. It's cast in stone! LOL!

Many years ago in this area, one of the original old village with wooden houses burned down completely, and was rebuilt the next year.

Oké, at the moment I think it’s a bit hard to get a visa to enter China. when the restrictions are lifted Lhasa does have an international airports and there are many magnificent hotels and resorts where you could stay!

@nicky fang Fully agree! But I thing stating “part of China” sounds a bit better compared to “belongs to China”. China belongs to the people!

@nicky fang hahhahahaha, I did notice the “country” remark. He indicated he missed it so I thought it would be more nasty to describe how nice it is in Tibet. I’m a strong believer in one unified strong China 🇨🇳 where all Chinese no matter what ethnicity or religion will thrive, prosper and live long happy peaceful lives! With unified That includes HK, Taiwan, Macau, Tibet, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia and all the other provinces.

You turn all prayer wheels in clockwise direction at the beginning of the video. In the movie "A Blossom of Love in Gannan", the doctor turns the hand wheel in clockwise direction as well. Good to aware of Tibetan culture.
