Rather, we probably ought to look at better ways of TLC, also less use of corrosive materials in treating winter roadways. New Zealand's longest span, the Rakaia Bridge, has been around since 1930. The George Washington Bridge, in New York City, and the Newell River Bridge, are also excellent pieces of work to be inspired by, and they're toll bridges. I'm not too worried about North American infrastructure as long as we treat it like our Great Grandmother, with great respect and love, through ordinary care, with extraordinary grace.

Summer is the best time to be there. Winters can be rough. We lived in Sapporo for 4 years, supper nice. That park is where the fireworks are during the summer. Don't forget to eat at CoCo Curry while you are there!

I lived in Sapporo as I mentioned in your other video. Memories are truly precious.OMG I lived In Asahikawa a much smaller city than Sapporo . I lived there for 2 years.Odori Koen, the amount of times I walked past there ...🥰. OMG. Shin Sapporo is where my wife is from, lived there also. Hey, I stayed at that same hotel! Hotel Sakhalin, yes? Looks like it's covered in snow so you can't see it, but the car park area out the front has a big tile mosaic of the famous Sakhalin husky sled dogs, Tarō and Jirō.

I highly recommend looking at more traditional Japanese food as well. Ramen is more recent addition like 100 years ago which is fine and all but there is allot more to Japanese food.

We stayed at Hotel Unwind there and it was amazing! Delicious picnic-style breakfasts every day with fresh ingredients, happy hour every night, the elevators smelled like campfires and you could order s'mores kits to use at the rooftop bar over the open fire!

I enjoyed all 3 Hokkaido videos, I'm from Sapporo, haven't been back for more than 20 years, and you showed me the places that I almost forgot about. I'm grateful for these videos. Hokkaido is very famous for seafood, well I should say really good food, it's just too bad you didn't have time to enjoy that. I loved the music you use in this video too.

When we went to Japan in 1997 we used our Japan Rail pass to go to from Tokyo to Nagano, Kamakura and Kyoto...in addition to going in and out of Tokyo from Kashiwa City where our host family lived.

I’ve been doing this thing where I’ll spin the earth in Google Earth and where my finger lands is where I will then go google videos of that town or city. Kinda like when you were a kid and would spin the globe..and Sapporo is where I landed. ❤️This is a great video. I realize I know absolutely nothing about Japan’s geography. Those mountains in the distance with the rolling snowy hills remind me a lot of many northern regions of the US. I truely enjoyed your video. Thx going to check out your others.
