When you here next time at Lavender Station, a 15-minute walk should bring you to Crawford Lane and the best Bak Chor Mee in Singapore, Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodles. They closed at 8.30 pm. After your BCM, you can walk to Golden Mile, which is nearby.

I was still staying in Singapore when Old Chang Kee started the franchise. Another one I loved was MOS Burger which was at Lido Orchard Road. 😀

Ya lah... actually I got some footage of that. The problem is the bus lets off passengers at Bidor, Tapah, Kuala Kangsar, Ipoh, Taiping, Kamunting and Butterworth! So many stops, we finally arrived at 9am next day. I think without the stops we could reach by 7am.

In Singapore, I boarded from Golden Mile Complex, instead of going straight to Tuas Chk Point, the driver went to Boon Lay for another Pickup, next to Jurong Point! I thought okay, maybe this is normal...when the driver uses the Woodlands checkpoint, I know I am in for that "pirate" bus ride whereby the driver will go on to pick up his sideline pick up arranged by others. We stopped in; JB (2 stops) Must Melaka Negeri Sembilan Kuala Lumpur (2 stops) Ipoh After Ipoh I sort of lost count. Left Golden Mile at 10 am We arrived in Georgetown almost midnight!!! I was so furious, that I marched to the ticketing office and banged the table demanding they reimburse me. We got the free ride back on a real "express" bus. Very unreliable.

I lived in Singapore for a few years in the early 90's. Before this trip my last visit was before the pandemic, probably around 6 years ago. So I do know a bit about getting around but there have been many changes especially the MRT lines. I passed by Clementi where I used to stay when I was living in Singapore, and it is almost totally unrecognizable to me now. 😀

My recommendation for Bak Chor Mee is the stall at kovan hawker centre just above Kivan MRT next time u come. Dont go 大华! SG is too ex for Malaysians especially during Taylor swift concert.

Ha2. A few shops after Toastbox at Lavander is where I go to for my Assam Laksa fix. Not as good as in Penang but better than nothing. They sell Penang hawker food at Singapore prices.

Wow.... let's open a char koay teow stall!!! Hahahaha. Nowadays you can also buy assam laksa paste from Lazada... I tried it before, OK lah... just add more of the laksa leaves, bunga kantan, cucumber, onions, pineapple and mint leaves... and of course fish meat and bihun! It is a company called Hola. Just Google Hola Penang Asam Laksa. :)

It was for memories sake and also to share with my daughter the experience. It really was not bad at all as we just slept all through the night. I used to live in Singapore and took the bus back to Penang every holiday those days (in the early 90s). Also the flight times didn't suit my schedule.

Your CPF account will be automatically closed on 1 April 2024. estimated 300,000 accounts".... 🤭 The new tallest building (>300 metres) will be right in front of International Building, i.e. the knock-down old Treasury Building.

Previous Manpower (in-charge of CPF) Perm.sec now became MAS Central Banker since last year. There will be many policies tweaks, and after every General Elections, the non-citizens foreigner will somehow slice a layer of skin or few ounce of flesh. 😂

I was using Google Maps to find buildings I needed to go to, very convenient that they have a Walking feature in the GPS guidance in my phone. From Lavender to Golden Mile I was lucky my friend had a car and he drove us there. 😀
