We have been to Savannah twice, once just for a quick stop and used the trolley to see the sites. The second time we took our bikes and signed up for a history bike tour. It was to quick for our desire and I would agree when going back out on our own to get some riding in the city is not set up for biking. The places you could ride safely are packed with pedestrians. What a great trip! Thanks for sharing.

🇨🇦 My husband and I love watching your videos. I was wondering what brand ,model etc of e-bikes you have? We are looking at buying and since you have many miles on yours it looks like a good choice.

Our bikes are Gazelle Ultimate C8’s - a class 1 ebike. Our goal when purchasing our latest bikes were (1) get more mileage out of the battery, (2) sit straighter and more comfortably. We are very happy with these bikes as they can go up to 90 miles on a single charge in ECO (we’ve never gone more than 65 miles, but never had a worry about the battery), they sit straighter and the handlebars are adjustable. Also, the bike has a Nexus 8 system -- eight gears are built into the rear hub of the wheel. They are protected against the wind and weather, and this reduces wear and maintenance. Combine this with a belt instead of a chain and your bike maintenance is kept to a minimum. You can also shift from a complete stop, which is really handy if you’re crossing a road and forgot to downshift before-hand. It has hydraulic disc brakes, front and rear fenders, a fully functional back rack and front shocks. Lastly, Gazelle is a brand that you can find in bike shops all over the country - making it easier to find service should you need it. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

Primarily we use the TrailLink app. There is a free and paid version. I’ve had the paid version so long I can’t remember the difference, but I think it is that you can download maps and get GPS directions to the trailheads - which is more than worth the $19.95/year the paid version costs. Plus you are supporting trail advocacy through their non-profit parent company Rails to Trails Conservancy. Thanks for watching.

Yall take longer rides can you discuss your seat/saddle set up? We are extending our rides but the bum is taking a beating.

We don’t have anything special, just purchased seats that have a little more padding than the ones that came with our bikes. We find the only way we can ride long distance and not feel beaten is to wear padded bike shorts. I bought a seat a few months ago that didn’t have the horn on it. It seems to make a difference, but I felt like I was always going to slide off, so I put my old seat back on. Love your videos! I believe those are Gazelles you are riding? I'm curious with the type of riding you do, which models do you have, and do you find yourselves wishing your bikes had any other features/capabilities? My wife and I are looking, and intend on similar riding, and are leaning towards strictly Class 1, but wonder if that'll be enough. (Strange as this may sound after my question, I like that your channel isn't about bike tech, but more about the experiences)

Yes, we are riding Gazelle Ultimate C8’s. We are very happy with these bikes. When we bought them we were looking for (1) ride upright, (2) long distance on battery. They have both these - 90 miles on the battery - plus a drive system that allows you to shift when at a dead stop and no metal chain. In addition, the Gazelle can be repaired at a large nationwide dealer network. We haven’t had any problems, but it’s good to know. BTW: Class 2 and Class 3 bikes are banned on most trails. It’s my understanding the main difference is that Class 1’s don’t have a throttle and have a top assist speed of 20 MPH. We’ve gotten up every hill we’ve attempted with our Gazelle’s. We had Class 3 bikes prior to this and are way happier with the new bikes. I must admit I miss the throttle, but can get over it for the other features. Thanks for your support of our channel.

Definitely stay Class 1! NFL-size here with same on Hase Lepus. Try to get internal gearbox/hub. Rohloff hubs here. If possible, gears far better than cassettes!
