Hey everyone! So happy to be back making travel videos here after so many years! We hope you enjoy following our adventures East across Turkey and beyond. If you do, please share it about a bit and give it a comment / llke. P.S - Sorry about the audio in places, we're getting used to some new audio equipment so it's not quite there yet!

WOW ! You two or three ( can’t forget LDV ) are back , you’ve really made my New Year . Your adventures usually have plenty of van problems, but with your beautiful look on life always pulls you through . You’ve popped that bonnet so much the catch or cable will wear out . Thank you so much for sharing you adventures with me ,I shall certainly be looking forward to what’s to come. Very happy for you that you both found a lovely hot spring( well deserved) 👍Still can’t believe the LDV is still treating us all . Safe journey and good luck 🥰🚐

Aaw such a lovely comment, thank you! 🥰 Funny you say that- the bonnet cable did indeed rust out last year, and we had to replace it 😂 We never seem to make things easy for ourselves, but that’s all part of the adventure eh? 😂 We’ve got some cracking episodes to share over the next few months, really enjoying being creative with it all again and can’t wait to share our next adventures! 😄

Great to see you and your trusty LDV back on YT. We are also the proud owners of an LDV which provides us with a challenge every time we cross the channel!! 😂 One thing which is similar is the starting. Our tricks are - disconnect the starter battery if parking for longer than 1 day. (there is defo a drain on it which can't be found). Before starting we prime the fuel pump, there seems to be a weakness with them. This helped on our last trip. We hope to follow in your footsteps with seeking out hot springs as they are so relaxing and free ones are the best! Safe travels and we hope your LDV is behaving!!
@FromRustToRoadtrip2 жыл бұрын
Oh nice! Yeah they’re always a challenge aren’t they 🤣 that’s a good shout about disconnecting the battery. We started priming our fuel pump too on this trip- before we left we added a small secondary electric pump that runs through the filter and we’re certain it’s helped us, especially in the colder weather we’re now facing in the east. Turkey is absolutely amazing for hot springs!

So happy to see you back! The filming in terms of quality was epic, truly the best I've seen like watching a movie and the music just made that all the more special. And here's me thinking you'd left us now your big-time Japanese tv stars.....go on admit it you had your own tv star trailer parked just out of the camera shot......just kidding.... maybe... You know Turkey built their own version of the sherpa van under the brand BMC (British Motor Corporation) and were the last people to use that brand when they reimported them back to the UK in early 2000s decades after it was last used in the UK.So spares may be easier in Turkey than in other countries even though they used many engines. Loved the hot spring your knowledge was commendable.I laughed out loud when a sofa and chair came into view. Are you visiting the Sea Turtles on the South Coast Of Turkey in Manavgat that Tread The Globe is fundraising for? A Very Happy New Year and I wish you both and the LDV the very best on the road. And no LDV doesn't stand for Lifeless Dead Vehicle Im sure there's plenty of life in her yet.
@FromRustToRoadtrip2 жыл бұрын
Hey Nick, thanks so much! That’s so nice of you to say 😄 And thank you for joining us on Patreon too, so happy to have you on there! Haha yeah we’re not really staying in the van anymore, it’s just an illusion now we’re big time 👀😂 We were so excited to see the BMC Levends driving around here! They’re mainly in the south west around Izmir, there seems to be a factory there as there were hundreds! But sadly almost no similarities body or engine wise with our van, although they look like cousins! And no sadly we didn’t make it that far around the coast, we ended up spending most of our time inland but would love to go back and see more when our visa renews! 😊

Ben and Lucy, whom I now consider part of my zeitgeist of humanity, at least the human part of it, the quality of your work shows me just how I've missed your explorations, and I'm immediately restored to the comfort that we are fundamentally god-like in our apprehensions, and indeed angelic in our actions. It's hard to express how much hope and comfort your interactions convey but know that you are inspiring monumental stirrings.
@FromRustToRoadtrip2 жыл бұрын
Oh thank you Clive, always lovely to hear from you and share in your musings! That’s something we’ve learned from travelling: the world isn’t such a scary place filled with bad people as we’re told, 99% of people are good and helpful and we shouldn’t believe all the headlines because then our views of countries will be largely dominated by politics and not populations

Hey! Sorry if you mentioned it, but where are those hot springs?
@FromRustToRoadtrip2 жыл бұрын
Hey, they’re in the SW of Turkey near Itzuzu beach. We don’t often say where exactly any of the natural spaces we visit are, because we try to strike a balance between sharing beautiful spaces and not damaging them through oversharing. We’ve seen so many of the dwindling free hot springs become very popular and become of interest to commercial entities or closed due to misuse. With a bit of digging, they’re findable on Google maps, but we don’t want to make it *too* easy to find so that the wrong types of people find them (those who might disrespect nature). We hope you understand ☺️

Thanks Jeff! Yeah we had some issues unfortunately using new gear, and once it’s recorded it’s very hard to repair and impossible to go back and reshoot 😩 it was pretty gutting but hopefully it’s getting better on the later videos as they come out.
