Exploring Takamatsu City || 2021-10/11 Shikoku Travels

Next up on my Shikoku trip was Takamatsu City, located on the central-northern part of Shikoku Island and is the capital city of the smallest region of Japan (Kochi).
The Takamatsu City leg of my trip started off with a snag with the front desk of the hotel being closed, which meant that I was not able to store my luggage at the hotel. I was tempted to use a locker at the station, but it was only another 2 hour wait so I decided to just wait it out at the station. After finally being able to store my luggage, I walked through one of the longest shopping arcades in Japan to Ritsurin Koen, which many regard as one of the best Japanese landscape garden.
The next day, I went to the Yashima area, which is home to the 84th Temple along the 88 Temple Pilgrimage. There were also great views of Takamatsu city, an amazing udon restaurant at the base of the mountain, and an open-air museum featuring historical architecture from all around Shikoku. I then went back to the central part of Takamatsu City to wander the castle ruins and port area.
I still stayed in Takamatsu for an additional night. However, I mostly visited areas outside of Takamatsu City itself, and hence I'll add it to the next video.
