Congratulations, this is Adam and Kathryn’s 7th award and unfortunately they are not here to receive the award because they currently off filming their next series. Awesome video as always guys! As someone who fly fishes often, the only tip I could gave you for fly fishing is to cast up stream and have a nice controlled drift until your line becomes straight then restart the process. Try euro nymphing it’s the simplest form of fly fishing. Hope that helps! Thank you guys for all the enjoyable videos.

I wanna say thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us! My Mom and I started watching you both after I suggested we "travel" to the 63 National Parks in the US after watching the Kentucky Derby. I purchased National Parks picture book, and started there in Kentucky. While looking for videos, we stumbled on the both of you! So, we mapped out our adventure preferably looking for your uploads of the destinations. Loved all of them and the way you enthusiastically delivered on the experience! In fact, every time we viewed one of your videos my 84 year old Mom would say, "That's our couple! That's our couple!" Thank you again for making these available especially for ones with limited mobility and circumstances! Btw, we just completed all 63 visits...but now we can go back and view the State Parks and foodies that you have posted! So much fun!

We haven't visited all the National Parks, but we did just visit our 47th the other day (although we don't have a KZbin video for all of the parks we've been to). Thank you so much again for sharing that! It makes us feel really good to hear that we could provide joy! Thank you for watching!

Great job on the video. We were in Talkeetna in October 2022 as part of a two week trip for our Anniversary. We flew into Anchorage from Florida with our two dogs and rented a Class C for our first nine nights and we stayed over a night. Even though some of the locations were closed after the season, we really loved the town. t is great to see familiar locations in your videos. We did spend a night in Riley Creek in a free campsite. They have eight free campsites out of season. We are planning a trip from Florida to Alaska in 2024 in out class A RV. We plan to bring our towed and our electric bikes. We are binge watching your videos and they have been very helpful for our planning. As it it turns out our journey kinds of mirrors you. In fall of 2023 we will spend three plus weeks exploring Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. The following year to Alaska. We want to be able to explore with our cameras. Can you share information about your backpack? The attachment for the camera on the front is interesting. Is the backpack waterproof/resistant?

My wife and I went on a tour of Alaska in 2003 and stopped in Talkeetna. We thought it was really a neat town and wanted to go back when we could go on our own. We did go back in 2018 and found that Talkeetna had grown and was a bit different than we had remembered it. Still neat but not the same as we had remembered. We did find a new favorite place though. A very small ( I mean small) place just inside Alaska from the Yukon. It is called Chicken. Summertime population is 30 people and winter pop. is 5. Really neat place. We panned for gold in chicken creek. We only found a few flakes but still very exciting. A trip well worth taking. Our round trip from Michigan to Alaska and back was eight weeks on the road and 11,465 miles. Whew!!!

Fishing tip: I’ve heard it’s best to look for exposed rocks in the river/creek, as fish like to hang out behind them. They like to stay in the current so that the current brings their food to them, but they don’t like being exposed and having to expend all their energy to stay in the current. So make sure the flow is good, but not too fast, and typically behind large rocks or boulders. Hope that helps!

Alittle tip I’ve picked up in fly fishing rivers is to look for faster moving rapids. “Not to fast” but swift current where it comes to a slow moving pool. The fish like to hang out in the pool waiting for bait to come past them from the faster moving current. Maybe give some movement to your fly as it moves through the slower moving sections. I’ve never fished Alaska but that works well for trout on the east coast. Also it worked when I was in MT 2 years ago. Sometime you have to throw at the same hole many times before it goes in just the right spot for the fish to see. Good luck and I hope you get something!!! Also a side note. It might be the color of the fly. Check as see what the target fish eat and try and match the colors on your fly.

Love from Ontario, Canada! As usual, watched your video on our Tv when it came out. We loved this video that was more of cultural and culinary experience. Loved the tour of the birch syrup factory. Growing up with using maple syrup, never knew there was such a thing as birch syrup.

We were in Talkeetna the 3rd week of May 2022 in the middle of the week. Unfortunately there was very little that was open at that time, only maybe 20% of the businesses were open, so we were very disappointed. We had seen so many great videos of the town. Nagleys store looked so interesting on the videos but was very small and dull but we did get to meet the Mayor. We also got to see Mt. Denali in it's entirety and got great pictures of it. The shop keepers were very nice but I wish we had be able to go a little later in season when everything was open. Thanks for the great video.

Great video as always. Now we have to try Birch syrup. Adam only fly fishing advice is in June you want to match the hatch, see what bugs are around. In a faster moving creek you want to use a dropper rig. In June, yellow sally if they are coming up to the surface. Watch for slow pools where they hang out. Float a foam fly and tie a zebra midge or other midge. Best of luck.

I guess I've never been to Talkeetna on a weekday because I've never seen it so dead in that town. Usually it's bustling on the weekends. I'm happy that you guys shared some actual history and spelled the Dena'ina name of the town. Nice touch. I find it sad that Alaska has the highest per capita Native American population in the US, and people don't talk about that part of visiting the state. As someone originally from the Lower 48, it's definitely nice to experience and share the rich Alaska Native culture.

We try to get to places as early as possible. The crowds didn’t start rolling in until about 9-10. We are very interested in Native culture and history and love to share it when we can. You’re right, it’s definitely not talked about, recognized, or appreciated enough here or in the lower 48. Thanks and thanks for watching!

Its been fun to see the excitement you two provide in the video for all that you've seen, done or sampled! Its a very fresh take on our little corner of paradise! I see this was the end of June so you got the full on Summer Solstice with the long daylight hours! All those daylight hours are pretty beneficial on the solar on my rig! Hopefully you all enjoyed your pass through Anchorage, my point of origin. I guess we'll see on the next video! Keep up the fun videos and safe travels!

@@AdventuresofAplusK , RV with Tito has been here this summer too and since i had seen his videos on what he did for his solar, I wanted to compare notes on how his solar was working up here because we have the lower sun angles and I built my system on the idea of what most do down in the lower 48, his biggest take away on how his system was working this far north was that his panels were producing up to 20 hours a day which he had never seen before. Something I took for granted. BTW, great video today at the Matanuska Glacier. And thanks for not making me one of the only ones who noticed the lunar landscape. If they were to fake a moon landing, they could do it there! ;-)

Guys, I'm really enjoying your vlogs from Alaska. Thanks for doing them. I'm 64 years old and live in Fort Worth. Alaska is my last state of the 50. I need to get there soon. My wife and I are not cruise people, but the only cruise we've talked about is possibly to Alaska. We also will not be driving that far, so it's cruise or fly. You're showing us so far that I think flying in and doing the interior might be what we would enjoy the most. Best Wishes and Hi to Kona.

Yum, that Spinach bread looked good! The first time I cooked with fresh garlic I thought the whole thing was a “clove”, so I put several pieces in thinking that it seemed like a lot of garlic, finally asked somebody and realized the single pieces were cloves. I love garlic too Kathryn, so what I made was super garlicky, but boy, did it taste good! Thanks for the video! I’m guessing you will be visiting a glacier next by your ice clue 😉

Fly fishing is the best! What flies have you been using? What size tippet are you using? Your cast looks really good in the video but I couldn’t see how your drift was going. My personal favorite because I have extremely limited time on the water is to nymph fish with attractor patterns. Id use a strike indicator (I prefer the New Zealand Indicator) and a size 14 Devin Olsen Blowtorch nymph in peacock black. This catches 90% of my fish everywhere I go. Devin has a KZbin and a website with tons of info as well.
@AdventuresofAplusK

I'm not sure what flies i have. The first assortment pack I bought didn't say what they were and then I bought more from a fly shop, but forgot to ask what they were. The fish I caught (in a future video) were caught on black and white flies, maybe mosquitos. I'm not sure about the tippet size. Since I don't know what the heck I'm doing half the time and still learning all the lingo I usually go into shops and tell them what I have and ask them to give me what they think I need. I do need to get some strike indicators soon! Thanks for all the tips, Adam!
