Exploring the Abandoned Camrose Football Stadium | (Ex-Home of Basingstoke Town FC)

So this ground used to be the home of Basingstoke Town FC, but when the land owner decided they wanted to sell the land and develop it. The club had to find a new home. Researching the stadium, there is still controversy going on around even now, both from the council, fans and the land owner. So rather then try and explain it all and get it wrong I thought I would drop a link below with a timeline of the history of the stadium.

The £1 to go in the stand and sit down is an upgrade price for those who bought a ticket to stand on the terraces. The betting shop was there for over 30 years

Yeah I did a bit of research and the whole future of the place looks incredibly up and down. Like the big mounds in the pitch o found out was actually them trying to build and then being told to stop. It's a very odd one. Looks like it would have been a lovely little community ground tho back in the day. If it does get reopened might have to go for a match 😉 not too far from me after all

Some great memories at the Camrose , I remember Northampton Town playing there in the FA cup ot was on sky sports with Aandy Gray in the gantry lol

It’s mad... I follow a lot of non league and I didn’t even know Basignstoke sold the ground! I actually went there years back, it was packed and a night game and I remember a good burger at half time haha.... so sad to see a nice non league ground gone 😔

Actually the club didn't sell the ground, they were kicked out by their ex-owner who also owns the ground and what's to redevelop it. He also allowed the pitch to be dug up and the ground vandalised so he could keep the club out. There is hope that the club could get the ground back however.

The phone I am using is the xaomi mi 10t pro. So Android. It's pretty good actually I'm very impressed. It's useful to know cause in the past I have been guilty of forgetting my camera so having a back up decent one in my pocket is always a handy thing. I think I may at some point get a phone gimbal and record another video in 4k 60fps as it does that too to see how that turns out.

My great uncles played there and my great uncle Simon wake was in the club house I remember crying there in 2017 at the merioal match and in the bottom of the main stand is the team dressing room
