For years I passed by this building always hoping someone would do something with it. Sometimes I feel like bringing a can of white paint just to see if others would join in. That milk jug has quite the personality, so much so that no one wants to tear it down. It's also almost across the road from one of the last Drive-In theatres. Maybe you can do a story on that too. You're doing a great job. Thank you🙂

There's a milk can on top of a former dairy in NE Philly. It was recently repainted and the building now has condos, I believe.

It has an almost sister-property in Raynham, on route 138 (785 broadway if you're looking on google street view). It was abandoned for years, but now apparently is a breakfast spot.

I was going to mention the one in Raynham. I used to go there as a kid for breakfast with my parents. And it was known locally as the milk bottle.

Good afternoon from Cape Cod ⛵ I remember it at its original location and when they moved it in 88, it's never been open as a business and is current location by the way. Contaminated soil my ass, as the reason for not getting licensing. Considering this business is everywhere surrounding it. Anyway it's probably small town politics. I agree… maybe it was contaminated groundwater back in the late 80s / early 90s, but there’s no way that’s still the case! Probably zoning laws and cost of renovation on the aging structure. Who knows! Thanks for tuning in as always! 🙏

same town had a nice bar many years ago too, lol. was an 'afternoon' kind of place, huge pool,,,, drinks at noon, and thru the night. first place i heard the song, "is that all there is" from Peggy Lee. (look that up, it's a fun song) love your videos. at the time i went there, i had a '69 caddy convertable, i went everywhere in that car,,,,, all in New England, i love driving huge cars,,, (for a skinny guy) had a hearse once, that was fun too

It looks more like a cream can with the shape and handle. Milk cans had 2 handles because they were much bigger. Cream cans had that shape and were way smaller with one handle.

Am I missing something or did this video contain no old photos of this iconic landmark? It would have been more interesting had there been some graphics. I easily found a shorter more concise video that featured vintage photos and newspaper clippings, plus some maps. Such resources can be obtained from local archives, newspapers, or from owners if not online.

The owner told me that he was going to refurbish it when all the construction on the highway is done , said the town was going to put water lines in to all the businesses there. This was a few years ago so plans may have changed

Haha, yeah you would think! I’m not sure exactly why they chose that specific plot of land (maybe it was cheaper or more efficient at the time), but it is sad knowing that all that money and effort spent moving it was ultimately null and void.
